I’ve never used a smoker, ever, and it was a real learning curve for me. It turned out to be exceptionally easy when I got going on it. The second item smoked, sausage, was delicious. It’s a pricy item for occasional use but oh the flavour! I don’t trust the items sold in the grocery meat section and it’s great to know that no one has sneezed on it, yuck. There will be more smoked items and the use will outweigh the price🇨🇦 OK , update on this smoker…. It’s all good. The directions on the booklet when you get it says to clean it often. I’ve used this smoker about three times with wonderful results, usually Montreal Smoked beef. I decided to do a clean up as I never know when I can use this item again. YES! CLEAN IT! Mine had about 1/4 inch of residue, smoke dust, sawdust, and other dusty items. Easy. Vacuum it all out and wipe down. Well, how much sawdust and ash can this thing accumulate… You’d be surprised. No big deal to clean, vacuum and wipe. This smoker has given us some interesting tasty meals and if you are into this, buy one. This smoker is foolproof and easy and the neighbours will be interested in what smells so smoky and delicious. I cured a brisket and smoked it. The recipe calls for cooking it in the smoker but I slow baked it in the oven. Pastrami! Canada’s answer is Montreal smoked beef. I got one slice and the rest was devoured by family. I’m not a cook and this is a good answer to my non creativity cooking ability. But I had a great recipe and a great smoker🇨🇦

This Onlyfire had issues out of the box. After burning it in I set the temp tp180deg to smoke cream cheese. It hovered around 225-250* and never went down to 180*. When smoking @250* the temp swing would jump up to 350-400* it was all over the place never dropping and maintaining 250* I also had the same issues as others have mentioned with black soot on the food and a smoking pellet chamber. I reached out to Onlyfire on their website with emails and using the websites online chat box requesting a new controller. I to this day a year later after my purchase have never received a response.

This product seem to fit the bill. I wanted something small enough to be portable and run off a small solar gen. Wanted it to be perfect size to cook for 2 to 4 people. It fit the bill, but unfortunately, the brains of it don't work like it should. I tried on multiple occasions to have it perform well, but it would simply not hold proper temps, and worst it would not smoke the food. The fan that brings airflow to the burn cup would not operate adequately, and the auger would catch fire and all the smoke would go out the hopper side, Wich is sealed from the cooking area. This resulted in the smoke not touching the food. I was able to return for full refund.
