Every single teacher and administrator should read this book and then learn and implement all the guidelines: all students would experience school in far better ways and would learn far more effectively. Positive discipline itself makes sense, offers the kind of guidance students~ and adults~ need, and is both wise and effective. Read Nelson's book about positive discipline at home and then learn and practice it within the family as well.

I like how much PD integrates students in the whole learning process, and by saying whole I’m not just talking about academics, but also about their integral development as people.

I am hopeful to apply some of these strategies in the upcoming years. It is hard to really visualize some of the lessons but I am hopeful that they will work.

This book outlined the importance of including kids of all ages in the decision making process and finding solutions to problems. Allowing kids to be active in the process facilitates greater learning and understanding. I am excited to implement clad meetings and agendas. We could all use more positivity in our lives.

This book was a breath of fresh air. In my experience of teaching for over 2 decades, it's much better to accentuate the positive. We all respond better to criticism, when our dignity has been preserved. It's a 5 star book on a very important topic. Bravo!

This book is pretty great. It’s filled with actionable advice that every teacher should have access too. I’ve yet to implement everything in the book but I have started class meetings.

After attending a workshop presented by Jane Nelson, I was completely sold on the beauty, respect, and effectiveness of this approach. I have implemented this for years I my school and, more recently, in my home with my own children. It is such a simple, sensible, and effective approach!
