This stand is very sturdy and holds my Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Fold 16 securely in any position; certainly more securely than the stand that came with it. The fan is silent and puts out a generous amount of air. Technically, this fan stand does use a USB-C. Unfortunately, that USB-C plugs into the stand, and the other end of the cable that is provided is a large USB-A plug. So, if you have a computer that no longer provides a USB-A plug-in option, you will either have to use another USB-C to USB-C cable you already have on hand (like I did), purchase another cable that has a USB-C on one end and a connector that your computer supports on the other, or purchase a port extender that has a USB-A port option.
