Stretches your dollar if you enjoy fermented milk products
it’s easy to use and makes a nice quality product from whatever grade of milk you choose: organic or 2% or grass fed… or goat milk or water buffalo milk if you have ethnic stores.you would have to read up on it to see if any of the non-dairy milk is compatible with this particular starter. I don’t have it in front of me right now.Especially given the price of groceries and everything else I think it is a good investment if you enjoy fermented milk products. And this way you know exactly what the ingredients are.I would recommend it for ease of storage and ease of use, but if you have mice, put it in a glass mason jar or something else they can’t get into!(not that we have anything against natural relief fermented mice, right?)🫢There are also good websites to talk about natural foods like Kiefer and they will be more than happy to talk to you if you need more advice how to use this.

Makes Good Quality Kefir for less money than store bought
I have been purchasing store bought kefir for quite some time and I discovered this stuff and tried it. Using kefir starter will help ensure that you always have fresh, high quality kefir without running to the store every time you run out. I think that homemade kefir has a higher potency and you can make it as thick and curdled as you desire. I can make 3 times the kefir at home for what I was paying at the store. It is quick and easy and it works.

Yogourmet Kefir Starter
Yogourmet Kefir Starter is not really very good. It produces a cultured dairy product, but not really kefir. I tried making six different batches cultured at different temperatures for either 12, 24, and 36 hours. It produces an odd tasting culture that is like a thin and runny mixture of buttermilk and yogurt. While I like both kefir and yogurt, I did not find the taste very pleasant. I tried it plain, sweetened, and mixed with fruit preserves. My dog, who loves yogurt, sniffed it several times before tasting it, but eventually ate it and seemed to like it fine. This starter will not produce a culture that will grow a colony of "Kefir Grains". The good news is that I did not have to waste the milk that I cultured with the product, I used the milk culture in place of buttermilk for making biscuits, cornbread, and pancakes. They all tasted great - maybe better than when made with buttermilk.Yogourmet's kefir starter got the best review of the commercial brand I could find, so I gave it a try, since it was also the most reasonably priced. Unfortunately there does not seem to be many commercial kefir starters that are the real thing. If it will really make kefir, it is probably called "kefir grains" rather than "kefir starter". It should also look like bits of cauliflower rather than baker's yeast.

Great Product Easy to Use and Prompt Delivery
Yogormet Freeze -Dried Kefir Starter always reliable and easy to use; Though CAN NOT SAY THE SAME FOR THEIR Probiotic Yogurt starter. .Bought several of their yogurt starter product and 'ALL the cultures was all dead with wasted more money on organic milk to boot; but their kefir product have never had any problem with.

For one-time use only
You cannot obtain kefir grains from this product. Thus, it is by no means cheap. With kefir grains, you can make kefir endlessly, and your grains grow continuously.
