This is a rich texture pate' but not solid like most other commercial kinds of pate' & it has sufficient moisture PLUS it is HOLISTIC food for all life stages! "All life stages" is one very important characteristic of good cat food. THERE ARE NO FILLERS! & NO carrageenan. I am not sure if the added spinach do cats any good, but it smells divine & one quirky characteristic I found is that the aroma is better if put in the frig before serving. I once again put it in the frig the morning before I went to work, served this to my kitty in the evening & she ate all of it--it just enhances the aroma, that's all. There are cranberries listed toward the top & it lasts well in the frig with the original aroma when put back for later in a covered container. Yes, I found out the best aroma comes when it has been in the frig for a while--strange but true. I have a few tiny dessert-size oven to table containers so I put remaining food in these tiny containers & cover with celophane & the next day the original aroma remains the same!--that means it is quality food. My kitty eats all of it, so unless I open two cans at once, there is no need to put any back most of the time--but you can & I have saved some for the next morning! This food demands a tiny extra time in the mouth for swallowing because of the rich texture. As always I want to emphasize that dark meat is more indicated for cats than white meat. It tastes better, adds fat & is less dry. White meat is only a people pleaser. Natural flavor? is that MSG? Here is one answer: MSG "should" otherwise be listed as MSG. Their site says "NO artificial flavors", preservatives or colors. This is Holistic food! The definition of natural flavor under the Code of Federal Regulations (for people) is: “the essential oil, oleoresin, essence or extractive, protein hydrolysate, distillate, or any product of roasting, heating or enzymolysis, which contains the flavoring constituents derived from a spice, fruit or fruit juice, vegetable or vegetable juice, edible yeast, herb, bark, bud, root, leaf or similar plant material, meat, seafood, poultry, eggs, dairy products, or fermentation products thereof, whose significant function in food is flavoring rather than nutritional” (21CFR101.22). INGREDIENTS: chicken, chicken liver, chicken broth, cranberries, spinach, carrots, natural flavor, sweet potatoes, alfalfa meal, flaxseed, guar gum, salt, potassium chloride, taurine, dl-methionine, choline chloride, cassia gum, xanthan gum, salmon oil, iron proteinate, zinc proteinate, vitamin E supplement, thiamine mononitrate, copper proteinate, manganese proteinate, sodium selenite, niacin supplement, d-calcium pantothenate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin supplement, vitamin A supplement, biotin, potassium iodide, vitamin D3 supplement, vitamin B12 supplement, folic acid. The aroma I think comes from a combination of good chicken & added ingredients. My concern is that they put peelings in with the sweet potatoes so if there are any toxins from the peelings they all get into the food--white potatoes contain peeling toxins & as a European I shudder at the thought of eating peelings. I only presume this but I am not sure. I think no one would peel sweet potatoes for cat food--I know the other brands DO NOT PEEL the potatoes. This food is carrageenan free! AND without the toxic supplement Menadione Sodium Bisulfite (source of Vitamin K)--(The Material Safety Data sheet on Menadione-sodium bisulfite states: “The substance is toxic.") Update Dec 14, 2015. I opened another can a week later & it seemed not to have the original great aroma, but I realized that the best aroma comes out after it has been in the frig for a while--unopened can OR portion taken out & put into a container. My kitty ate all of it--including the second can at the same time--I opened a second can to try to figure this aroma thing out. The unused portion remained fresh & aroma fresh until the next morning. All was eaten & enjoyed!

First of all, my cat seems to prefer "chicken flavor" over every other flavor. I did get the variety pack at first to see if she would go for the turkey or even the cod; she does like tuna on occasion. But, chicken was the "clear winner" per usual. The best news is, I have been trying to get her on a more "nutritious wet food routine." I have tried other food, and wasted many cans trying to get her to eat. I stumbled across this on Amazon, and gave it a try. She LOVES IT!!! In fact, I was feeding her on the lanai with this, and a rabbit's blood crunchy on top, and had a recent bobcat sighting in my yard!!! Make sure to feed your kitty "indoors," and don't make the mistake I did because this wet cat food is very enticing, and I think maybe the bobcat could smell it a mile away with highly sensitive nose. Having said that, "it doesn't smell bad at all." It smells rich and meaty. I highly recommend for picky eaters. Oh, and one more thing: My cat's fur is SO FLUFFY AND SILKY NOW, AND LESS SHEDDING!!! She really is looking more healthy since I've gotten her on this. I think it's a good brand, and reasonably priced. Chicken pate all the way!!!

I have been searching/purchasing brands of cat food, for my baby, for at least 4-5 months. My cat was eating venison for a very long time, and he did very well on it, but the company discontinued that product, so therefore, I had to start from scratch, finding him a new food to eat, that was going to be tolerated, and was going to be delish to him. My boy has skin/intestinal allergies, so it has not been easy to find a food that agrees with him. I thought a couple of times I did, but he is so finicky, I've had no luck. So, I come across this food, seeing that they have a rabbit recipe, but I know I have tried rabbit with him during this journey, and he did not like it at all. Anyway, since this was a different company, I figured I would give their rabbit recipe a try. Well, unbeknownst to me, he does like rabbit, he just didn't like the other companies rabbit recipe. He really seems to like this food. He licks his bowl clean. In the 3 1/2 years that he has been with me, he has never licked a bowl clean like this. I am crossing my fingers, that he does not get an ear infection. Also, he has been producing very good stools. So far, he has been eating this food for about 4 days. I know it is probably too soon to start thinking that this food will be o.k. For him. I actually think you need a good 8 weeks, before you can get the accurate results, on how this new food will affect him. So, like I said, I am crossing my fingers, and holding on to hope. Actually, it would be great if this food works out. The price of it is awesome, and the ingredients are not too bad. I would rather see no gums in the food, but besides that, the ingredients seem to be pretty good(no fillers like grains, veggies, fruits, etc... Just meat, vitamins and minerals). I love the texture of this pate'. It is so smooth and creamy. This is a pate' that is great for cats that might have gum or teeth issues. My cat has lost 13 teeth, so this food is so easy for him to chow down on. Also, this food does not smell horrendous to me. I find a lot of novel proteins(which rabbit is one of them), that also seem to have that strong, funky smell, but this one doesn't. If you are looking for a fairly priced food, that is a novel protein, try this rabbit recipe. I don't think you will be disappointed. I will update, if there are any changes.

My cat loves this cat food but I received one can that was almost empty. It is the first time this happened.

I remember about six months ago from the time I am writing this post when you could get 24 cans of this for twenty dollars. Now it's ten dollars more. Which adds up every month if you need to buy about four to five of these cases in a month. This food is very good quality I just wish they would quit raising the price on it! So here is my experience with this food so far. My Tuxedo cat, a year ago this coming December 12th, was diagnosed by nine vets to have Idiopathic Chylothorax. Seven vets at Illinois State University out of a total of nine I took her too told me she was going to die and I just need to accept it. One vet there at ISU swore surgery would fix it but it would be 7,000 dollars. Another vet at ISU said I could try putting her on a diet since she was 20 pounds and see if that would help then handed me a small sample of dry cat food that had BHA and BHT in it! (Toxic to animals). So needless to say I spent many days with no sleep searching the Internet for natural food that would help her lose weight after she had been chest tapped a total of nine times less than two months. Then I had found this food and after reading the ingredients I decided to try it. Today, my Tuxedo cat "Pepper" is under 14 pounds and you would never know she had ever been sick. She has had regular checkups to her new vet and he is amazed how clear her chest is on her last x-rays. He even asked me about this food I am giving her because he said this is just something you rarely see with a cat getting better from Chylothorax. So, in closing, I love that this food has helped save my little girl but damn... Could you all stop raising the price please? It's killing me.
