It has been a wild ride for me so far with these chairs. After searching for a month for an adirondack chair that was low maintenance and reasonably priced, we settled on these. We were looking for 6 chairs so we knew this would be an investment. These have been in and out of stock on Amazon the last couple of months so ordered 2 chairs from Amazon Warehouse and both arrived damaged. I was not too concerned as I knew I was rolling the dice purchasing these used. Since these went out of stock again, I ordered 6 more from another big blue box seller in stages, two at a time. Luckily, I held off returning these as it turned out that 2 out of the 6 were damaged from that seller and those were new. ***Tip 1 - Quality control is spotty and packaging is part of the problem. Order an extra for spare parts if you are getting more than 2 in my opinion***. Now on to assembly....I am not a carpenter by any stretch but good at these types of kits. They were a challenge to put together and suggest two people to help line the holes up and at least a socket wrench with hex but to help drive a few of the screws into the holes and the last 4 are not going to be easy. ***Tip 2 - Don't rely totally on the little "l" shaped hex tool or you will go insane. Get some nitrile gloves (your fingers will thank you), the socket wrench, and even the drill (it comes with a hex drill bit). Have some patience and take your time and you will be fine.*** ***Tip 3 - Follow directions closely and do not tighten screws too early. If you do. those last 4 screws will be impossible to put in as you will have no play in the chair - you don't want to find out the hard way.*** ***Tip 4 - You should not have to re-drill holes and if I had to guess, it could be a reason why people are having issues later. Use a headlamp or phone flashlight to line up the holes. It can be maddening at times during assembly but have patience. The last 4 holes should be a little tough to line up to make sure the whole assembly will be solid*** So that is where we are at now. Our chairs are assembled and placed outside as Spring approaches here in MA. I will update once we start using. I see several photos here in the reviews that show broken slats, etc. I am a little suspect as quality does seem very good once assembled and question if directions were followed accurately, screws were not ovetightened/stripped, etc. or if a cracked board was overlooked (***Tip 5 - inspect all your parts closely for hairline cracks etc before starting assembly***). Lifetime customer service seems pretty good as they seemed genuinely interested in my feedback on my experience so far and they acknowledged the quality issue and are working on it. They said they will ship replacement parts out but when I called first time after receiving my initial Amazon Warehouse shipment, they were not able to send me replacement parts at that time for some reason and told me to return the entire unit. I am glad I hung onto them as I mentioned earlier, as I used for parts for the other chairs I ordered elsewhere. I will report back and update 3 star rating (assembly rating only) once we get some use out of them but fingers crossed these last. ******************************** 6/18/21 The pain of assembly is becoming a distant memory. Very happy with performance of these so far. Bumping up to 4 stars. ********************************* 6/8/24 Update: Chairs are going on 3 years old and have held up very well to New England weather. A few of the screws are rusting a bit but that is all. Still enjoying all 6 of these chairs.

We bought 4 of these in 2018, and while they were difficult to assemble then, they were sturdy and looked good. We left them for the new owners when we moved and so wanted another set for our new house. Wow, has the quality gone down! At least 2 of the 4 arrived with broken parts, even though the boxes were in good shape, so we thought we would assemble 1 from the parts that weren’t broken. After dealing with the usual difficulty lining up the screw holes, we thought it would help to remove a part, but backing out the screws stripped out the plastic and the screw couldn’t be reinserted. The tool that came with the chair to drive in the screws also broke. We gave up and started a return of all 4 chairs. We didn’t open the other 2 boxes to know if they were broken or not. The plastic was very brittle and I would be concerned that someone heavy could break it if it is that fragile in the box. Do not recommend!

I do not recommend purchasing this chair. It arrived broken in the box. We had planned to buy a very few well thought out purchases to make being in lock down this second summer of the pandemic bearable. This was one of those few purchases. I chose this company because of their warranty and customer feedback saying they will solve an issue with their products. Every single screw in the box was too long. Yes! This is a huge issue! They pierced the boards coming out the other side! (We were forced to go shopping in the pandemic, when we have been extremely careful and I have not left the house in over a year and a half.) for to sole purchased of 40 plus 1/4 inch washers to off set the length of the the screws. Look out! The directions in the booklet can’t be easily understood. Things do not line up. We spotted the cracked board as soon as we opened it. I then contacted a customer service rep at Lifetime products. I was informed by a rep by the name of Larkin, this chair doesn’t have parts they can send. No one has bothered getting back with me after sending pictures, proof of purchase, and pertinent information needed. We are very low income, this is something I have wanted for years! I researched for weeks before choosing this company because of their warranty. It looks great in the yard, has a nice profile and the design is great! However, there is sits. Unusable because if that board collapses, someone is going to get hurt! Buy at your own risk! This is far too expensive to be broken in the box! To not have any help from this company is a gross error! Your customers keep you in business!! UPDATE!!! Waited all summer for the replacement to arrive! Repeated emails, finally no replies at all. This company is not telling me the truth. It’s now almost Christmas. No replacement. I beg you, do not purchase from people who don’t keep their word. These chairs will break, or be broken on arrival! Buy the REAL item. You get what you pay for. These are very poor quality!

Purchased 4 chairs and they arrived quickly. Assembly was not difficult, just tedious. I would definitely recommend using a power screwdriver of some sort to assemble using the drill attachment provided. I would also recommend making the pilot holes a little bigger with a drill bit. Don’t go to deep, just widen the opening a bit, you’ll thank me. : ) One final recommendation: Have a quality Allen Wrench set standing by. The one provide is pretty cheap and the metal is soft. Use the quality Allen Wrench to do the final tightening of all screws, there’s a lot of them. The assembled product is great! Looks really nice and is very solid. All our neighbors have raved about them. I recommend these chairs if you don’t mind investing a little time to put them together.
