Beautiful...quality and affordable, too
Absolutely perfect for my small living room. It took us about 3 hours to put together... No problems, just assembling took time. I love it. Quality, beauty, affordable!

20 amp circuit recommended
Overall I really like this product. I like the price of it, the ease of putting it together, and the look. I saw a review that said that a 20 amp circuit is recommended and I did not like that the description did not say that. I didn't want to rely on the review and searched everywhere to see what amps are recommended and could not find anything. I think this is an important element when purchasing this product and think it should be included somewhere in the description. One thing that I am a little disappointed about is that it says it has stacked stone and I expected the stone to be extremely thin for the price but it's not actually stone at all. Just a graphic of stone but it looks pretty convincing and like I said for the price I'm happy with it. I put it together by myself in about an hour. The directions leave a little to be desired but I'm more of a picture person anyway and manage to get it together without any issue. I don't really like connecting things to my phone and I wish the LED lighting had a remote rather than having to connect to an app. It's June and I haven't used the heat so I can't comment on that. I guess the flame doesn't look realistic according to some of the comments but it suits me just fine. A question I had before purchasing it was if I could put it over top of a floor vent and if the bottom is hollowed out so I could. I think the seller should post a picture of the back of the unit to give buyers a better understanding of what they're buying. This would have helped me determine about the heater vent.

Seller Fixed! (Loud clicking/banging ruins experience)
Update: Using Amazon’s customer service’s “chat with the seller” feature, the seller was very responsive and sent out a new fireplace insert for the surround. The new fireplace insert arrived in about a week and upon plugging it in there was no clicking. I realize now that the rod that I could see in the original fireplace was obviously broken or out of place and that must’ve been what was making the sound. The new fireplace looks better (no rod to be seen) and is nice and silent, except for the heat blowing when you want it to :-). Things happen, which is why customer service is super important and these folks knocked it out of the park. Changing from two stars to four stars! This shipped in a timely manner. The two different boxes arrived within a day of each other. It took about three hours for one person to assemble not too bad actually. The fireplace heats fine upon first test, but there is this constant clicking of the little piece that rotates to simulate the flames, and it is louder than the blower on the fireplace itself, I can be finished with walls between us and still hear it. I’ve contacted the seller to see how this can be fixed but if it can’t be fixed, I’m gonna have to return it because the sound might drive me nuts trying to enjoy a nice fake fire. Overall, I think the quality is fine. The pieces don’t fit together wonderfully in the front and I’ve tightened all the screws many times but this dang clicking it’s a shame because this is a decent addition to my basement if it wasn’t so loud.

everything is there.
All the parts were there and the instructions were clear, but it took this old man (78) took three hours to unpack and assemble. Looks great with the 'flame and heat' in place.

Better built than expected, slightly smaller than I envisioned
I received two boxes, one day apart, 3-4 days after placing the order. The first box was the electric fireplace insert, so I got to play around with it before installing. Decent unit, which they sell separately for (currently) $109. The fire effect is actually pretty good, but if they swapped out the red bulbs for a different yellow/orange shade than the other bulbs, it would be even better. The red is too, well, red for real fire. It has three light levels, which is nice, so you can turn it down while watching a movie. The heat function is separate from the lights, too. My only real complaint is that the fan is single-speed, and it's pretty loud. It would be better to have a quieter low speed option. I looked briefly at other 23" inserts (just thinking down the road), but most are taller. Not sure if any will be usable without modification. The second box contained the surround. It was far more solid than I had expected it to be. Quite heavy actually, which I consider a good thing. Putting it together wasn't too bad, though it did take a little bit of time. As others have mentioned, there are one or two steps where the screws have to self-tap, so having an awl and/or small drill bit to start it is helpful. The only noticeable gaps are where the top middle piece meets the two side-front pieces. I have the exact same gaps in the molding strip as another reviewer showed. It might have been better to make that whole top-front section one piece all the way across with the seem at the bottom of the molding. Not too big of a deal, though. The whole thing is just a little smaller than I had pictured in my mind. In particular, the stocking that is shown hanging from the mantle in the one photo must be pretty small, because ours would cover the top of the fireplace insert, including the heat vent. My fault for not really measuring it out. Next year, it may go up to my bedroom, so I can replace it with something a little bigger. Still, it is a good deal for the price. As an aside: I'm sure most people realize that this needs a 3-prong outlet. It is also recommended that it be run on a 20A breaker with 12-2 wiring and a 20A outlet. A 15A breaker with 14-2 may work, but it won't have the recommended safety factor. Consult your electrician for their recommendations.

Disappointed
Did not arrive with the electric fireplace insert. Still don't have it. Came in two boxes that had to be put together. It is particle board not wood like I was expecting. Alot smaller than it looks also.
