Awesome kids toy!!!
This two caboose train is awesome. The main caboose has buttons to operate the train and the second caboose has a removable ridder. The train comes with a R.C. Controller to drive the train on the track. Remote does forwards, reverse, train, horn, and train light. For the selling price this is perfect for any train loving kid!!!

Easy to use
This product was very compatible to the wooden train tracks that I have and the kids really enjoy controlling the train

Super cute battery operated train.
This took about 3-4 weeks to arrive, but I ordered well in advance of Christmas (2 months) so it arrived on time. My grandson loves trains and loved this one.

So fun!
The engine doesn't have a lot of umph so it doesn't go up the hills very easily or tow more train carts. But my kids looove it!

Junk!
Changed out batteries twice played with it less than two hours and now it does not work at all. Complete junk! No I do not recommend.

Train works great, remote never worked
The train itself works great; however, the remote never worked. My husband (who is very handy) could not get it to work at all-the one we were sent is def defective and broken. The train itself works great. There are buttons on the top of the engine to allow it to go forwards and backwards. It fits and runs well on our wooden train tracks and goes up and down hills with ease. My train loving boys really like playing with this red engine so I can’t give it one star, but the remote never working makes this not worth the price to me.

Still work
These have held up even after being thrown around and used repeatedly. Works great on wooden tracks!

Power up your wooden train track set
What was good:• This rejuvenated our young boys’ interest in their Brio train tracks set. They weren’t playing with it very often (around age 8) in competition with other toys and activities. For now anyway, they are very interested in the self-powered locomotive.• This becomes essentially an easy model railroad starter set that can be built by young kids on their own.• Overall, the locomotive performs well. It is not fast, but that prevents it from derailing which would happen if it took the curves and cracks too fast. It does produce good traction and pulling power. Our track includes hills and elevated bridge crossings. As long as the battery is charged the loco was able to get over the hills, even pulling a couple of cars.• I recommend using rechargeable batteries, as the engine needs 2 AAA and the controller needs 2 AA and these will run down with use.• The controller is a throttle lever that provides a more authentic feel to operation rather than a simple button remote would.• This is safe for young kids to use, in my opinion, and usage in our household. All the moving parts are secured inside the locomotive, other than the wheels themselves. Perhaps the moving wheels and axle could tangle on shag carpet or similar long fabric, but this is intended to run only on the wooden track. So, what’s so-so or not good:• Installing the batteries in the engine and later changing them for new batteries is annoying. Rather than a more typical sliding or latching battery door, this design requires holding the door closed against the battery compartment springs while tightening (or loosening) a small screw. I am not sure how many battery changes the screw socket will last.• Along with the locomotive there is a railway car in this set. It lights up, powered by several button cell batteries. After some experiments, we believe it is activated when one of its wheel axles rolls. It then continues to blink for a set amount of time. There is no way to turn this off, other than taking the batteries out. So, just let it sit for a couple minutes.• Some aspects of the locomotive and car appearance are good, while others miss the mark a bit. See the seller’s photos. It is definitely plastic, not wooden. The car seems to be intended to be a coal tender but does not look much like a coal tender. Kids don’t care ;-)This set is nice for what it is. Just don’t expect too much from it. The boys really do like it.This review is for the “Motorized Train for Wooden Track, Battery Operated Locomotive Train, Remote Control …” product.
