Okay - It Will Do the Job with Adjustments
I hesitated over whether to give this rip fence a 3 or 4 star rating. I would go with 3.5 if possible. I have a new Metabo (formerly Hitachi) circular saw and it did not come with a rip fence. As an aside, that's irritating. Metabo wants almost $19 for a rip fence that has no measurements but includes a spring loaded set screw. That's over 21% of the cost of the saw - ridiculous. So, I ordered this $10 fence. I should have noticed the picture that shows it has measurements in centimeters. That' my fault. But, my tape measures don't even have metric measurements. So, this thing is a pain. The picture in the ad page shows a dark gray rip fence and you can see the measurements. But, I received a black fence and it's hard to see the measurements unless you turn the fence toward the light and catch it just right. Also, as shown in my pictures, the fence is not square. That's not a deal breaker as I will bend it square , but it's another strike against this thing.

Makita rip fence
Product is clearly not square. Just by looking at it, it's slanted to one side. Terrible quality control. Will be returning.

Fits Most?
I ordered this rip fence because the information in the ad said that it fits most circular saws. I have two saws. A Craftsman and a Skilsaw, two popular saws. This guide did not fit either saw. It seems well built, at least enought to rip a few pieces of plywood that I was going to use it for. The saw guide is black and has metric measurement printed on it. They are hard to read. I think the vendor should drop the "fits most saws" claim, print the measurements in inches and make it readable.

Perfectly fine. Metric measures.
As an American I was hoping for Imperial measurements (inches, etc.) instead of metric measurements, and that isn't clearly delineated here. So, please note that these are in metric (i.e. centimeters, etc.) which was not what I was expecting/hoping for. Other than that though, these are well made, work great and ft my Makita circular saw like a glove. And for those who need it: it is 2.54 centimeters to 1 inch. Enjoy!
