Excellent advice, well-delivered
When it comes to presentations, Nancy Duarte knows her stuff. Before I bought this one, I worried that the format might kill her style and clarity. It doesn't. This book offers solid, sensible and sometimes surprising advice. It starts by reminding you that a presentation is all about the audience, not the speaker. That insight alone was worth the price of the book. But you get much more. I'm a better presenter for having read it -- and I refer to it often.

Hmm - It's OK
I purchased this book having read both of the other Duarte books and thought there may be something new and interesting in this smaller book. Unfortunately, there was very little if any new information here. Don't get me wrong though, if you are new to giving presentations or just want a quick refreshing on your presentation style, then this would be a good book to start with as it is written by someone who creates presentations on behalf of multinational companies. But if you are an experienced presenter it is not worth the read as you should be aware of most, if not all of her main points. This book is definitely for less experienced presenters and is be recommended for you. If you are an experienced presenter and are looking to refresh your skills, then it would be worth a read too. However, experienced presenters should stay away.

For those who also read Resonate and Slide:ology, you will find the new HBR Guide to Persuasive Presentations a useful and compelling tool. Having worked with Nancy's team at Duarte Design, earlier this year, I found this ebook to be a useful receipt from that experience, reminding what is valuable when preparing to create and deliver an impactful presentation - especially to busy, distracted, high-powered executives. As in her other works, Nancy is authentic, practicing what she advocates by cleanly organizing her guidance and delivering it with passion. This book adds nicely to her volume set, adding useful tips on building relationships via social media channels and following-up with your audience after you've delivered. I recommend this handy ebook to my colleagues and my clients, as well as to my proteges who are learning - through practice - the art of tech entrepreneurship and strategy at Stanford, NUS (Singapore), KTH (Sweden), etc.

This book by Nancy Duarte is a very valuable guide. She is definitely a guru and it shows as she takes you through a journey on how to make exceptional presentations. Here you will get useful guidance on how to understand your audience, how to develop your message, tell stories and most importantly how to use presentation media. There is an art to developing slides and building decks. Finally your delivery and impact brings it all together. This is a nugget filled volume that will serve you well as you inspire and motivate your audience wherever you may be delivering your presentations.

Indispensabile.
