Excellent! Much Better Sleep! Not groggy.
I’m shocked this doesn’t have a higher rating than 4.1 stars (currently). I love this stuff! It’s powerful but doesn’t make me groggy like melatonin the next day. I had read a review where a guy initially took more than the recommended dose. I think he took one an hour before bed and then two at bed (or some variation like that). I initially started there but then was able to back down to one an hour before bed and one at bed. Now I just take one before bed. It works really well! As someone who is a light sleeper, and now even more so with an infant, this helps me get into restorative sleep more consistently throughout the night. I really enjoy this stuff!

I've never slept better!
I've never slept better. It took 3 days for it to really "work," but now, I take it and within 20 mins, I'm out and I get the best sleep ever. Highly recommend!

Didn't make me sleep and gave me a gut ache.
So normally, I wouldn't trash an herbal remedy for not working. Such is the nature of nature I suppose. Plus, I've taken enough pharmaceuticals that didn't work (or did the opposite of what they were supposed to) to know that you won't always get what you want out of pills and potions. So the fact that this supplement didn't help me sleep at all wasn't really what bugged me about it. What bugged me were the waves of nausea that quickly made sleeping impossible every time I took it. And yes, I followed the instructions and took the pills with plenty of water (and an hour apart; maybe possible stomach discomfort is why the instructions tell you to split the doses by such a large margin). And to be absolutely sure it was the pills, I took them for a week. Though I will admit that this was due as much to stubbornness (and a hatred of wasting money) as it was to a scientific fervor for personal experimentation. Finally, I got tired of feeling like I was going to throw up every night and just threw the bottle away. I'm not sure what caused this reaction. Could have been any of the herbs I guess. I'll blame the poppy extract. Just because. So anyway, this pill didn't work for me. Not even in the most basic placebo-related sense. I hope other people have more luck with it, but be aware that it might cause some stomach discomfort. Maybe start by taking one and seeing if that causes nausea, then ramp up the dose if you do okay. Good luck!

GIVE IT TIME! It will eventually do what it says it will. It WILL work, it just needs to get in your system.
I have extensive insomnia issues that have plagued me since the death of a relative a couple of years back. I used to have multiple nightmares, every night, that would wake me up as I settled into REM and started dreaming. It was literally, a nightmare. I am currently on a combination of medications, and have tried many others in the past, as well. Prazosin eliminated the nightmares, but oddly, I kept waking up, every hour, on the hour! My therapist suggested Deep Sleep as she said she "swears by it." I was desperate and where melatonin, sleep hygiene, and even medications had failed me, I went ahead and ordered this supplement. I received it and followed the directions, taking one an hour before sleep time and as I laid down, swallowed another. They need a little water but have no flavor and go down with no issue. The first night, nothing. Woke up every hour on the hour. The second night, I woke up six times. The third night, I woke up three times. I've been on it a week now and only wake up twice a night now, once to use the restroom, and the second around 1-2 AM for about 20 minutes before I can fall back asleep. I know I have extensive sleep issues and will need a sleep study; I am not overweight (anymore) but sleep apnea could very well be an issue, so I will continue seeking medical assistance. However, I am fully confident this is helping me sleep and has cut my wakefulness overnight by 80%. Eighty. Unreal. My therapist, she loves all-natural stuff, eats organic, can afford the lifestyle. Paying what I pay for this product is on the "pricey" side for me, but for the rest I am now getting, not nodding off during the day, not needing constant naps? It is absolutely worth it.

Best I've found so far
I suffer from insomnia and anxiety. I always say that it's like trying to fall asleep with multiple radio stations on at once - so much loud chatter and fleeting thoughts in my head. My body begs for rest but my brain is wide awake. I bought this out of desperation despite the high price point because I don't function well at all on no sleep. I only take one of these capsules about an hour before bed alone with 5mg of melatonin. It puts me out easily and no longer takes 2+ hours to fall asleep. No more brain chatter. I also stay asleep, and sleep very deeply, which is something melatonin never did for me. Oh no longer get up to pee 5ish times a night. My only complaints are that I do have very vivid and unpleasant dreams fairly often - I believe this is a side effect of Valerian. And some days I wake up a little groggy. It's not too bad and wears off in an hour or so, and it's still better than waking up with no sleep. A bit expensive too, which is why I docked a star. Overall, I definitely recommend this. It feels "cleaner" than trazadone (which was awful for me, btw), as well as zzzquil and it's OTC counterparts, and it works better than melatonin does on its own. For the time being, it has solved my insomnia issue.
