Simple and Efficient
I've used these seed starters for three seasons now, and it's a pretty easy task getting from seed to plant with these things. If you've never used these before, there is a plastic tray with 12 starter pods included. You add a bit of water, which expands the starters. You then peel back the netting--with a toothpick or something of comparable size--and add two or three seeds. A plastic top is then put on the container and within a few weeks, the seeds turn to plants. You then acclimate your plantings and pop the whole thing in the ground. The only problem I have with these things is that the unit is not particularly stable. The plastic is somewhat flimsy, and the plastic cover 'rests' on top, but it doesn't seal. This means you must have an out-of-the way location where wind, kids, cats, or others won't bump into them. I set mine in a large plastic tub below a window in our guest room. The other thing to keep in mind is that you want to make sure you have 'tight' rooting before you plant these. If there is not a sufficient root base (knotted and firm), the plants don't take off very well and some might even die. Anyhow, this is an efficient product for getting your seedlings started; I can't think of anything I would prefer over these.

A space saver for starting a small amount of seeds indoor!!
These were easy to use and were great for starting my sunflower seeds! After a few weeks, I was able to transplant them outside. The pods were mostly easy to remove from the container. Through my own fault, I left the sprouts indoor for way too long and the roots were overgrown and started attaching to other pods. Thus, causing a minor problem when removing the pods when it came time to transplant. I had to “rip” them away from each other. Regardless, the pods still held up without any tears. My only complaint about this product is that the container was very flimsy. I was never rough with the container and it somehow had a rip/hole on the bottom causing it to leak when I water the sprouts. I solved this by using the clear top as sort of a drip catcher. I just thought that I’d be able to use the bottom part multiple times if I were to purchase more pellets, but that wasn’t the case. Overall, I’d still give this product five stars.

It worked!
This is a small green house for starting seeds from scratch. It has served its purpose as I started growing limes and oranges. The little plants are growing and thriving sitting by the kitchen window. The peat moss pellets were an added bonus. I have to tell a funny story the day I planted my seeds. I left the left over peat moss pellets on the kitchen counter as my husband decided to make himself a sandwich. He saw them put some mustard on them thinking they were sausage Pattie’s and put them on his sandwich. Needless to say, he had difficulty digging into them! Hahaha !

These are the tiny pellets, the peat is also more chunky and harder to work with.
Picked up a couple of these trays because they were a pretty good deal. I've used peat pellet trays for years with good results. Didn't realize how small these are, compared to the other larger size I normally get. They did work for the garden vegetables I was sprouting, but I noticed the actual peat used is a lot more fibrous than the larger pellets which have a softer finer texture. The rougher peat material also is more messy to work with. I ended up buying a couple larger 12 x 12 trays from the local store instead, the pellets puff up to almost four times the size of these, which is also easier to work with.

Easily an item that should be picked up
If you want to start growing anything indoors, this is the sturdy rock to start your garden on....or soft soil....This thing is cheap, small, and provides pucks of dirt. I'm not sure about anyone else, but that's really all you need, other than some seeds and water. I got a bonsai tree kit, and decided to get this so I can mostly have the extra dirt to plant seeds, since some seeds were like the size of a quarter, but wanted me to shove 5 or 6 into one small puck. I don't care about the germination rates of a puck, I want to know how many plants I got overall. These dirt pucks are great too, probably the only reason this item has a price. I got a little heating mat set up, and when I place it on top, you can feed how warm it is through the top of the dirt puck, a great sign for the heating mat too. I would leave it covered at night, so it'll stay extra warm, and then uncover it during the day so it can get some sunlight. I'm not sure what else I can say to convince you to stop reading and buy it, so I'll just say: but it right now

Cheap ultra thin plastic, waste of money.
Ultra thin flimsy plastic, and doesn't provide a seal so it wont keep good humidity. Bends and breaks just by touching it... Definitely not worth the price what so ever! Save yourself time and money and buy something else.

These are so easy to use for starting seeds. I went off them for years because I hated having the little nets in my garden, but I’m starting a ton of flowers this year and these have just been easier. They fit right on my windowsill so I haven’t had to use my grow lights, I’d still recommend sowing root vegetables directly into the ground, but for flowers and certain crops they work very well.

Good size tray and lid to start seeds to sprout plants . Don’t like the lid it’s very thin 0.5 mm. Won’t last the long. It can rip very easy.

I already wrote a review for the larger size of Jiffy greenhouse. This smaller size is definitely my favorite. It fits on our windowsill and we have yet to have a seed planted that has failed. Incredibly easy to use and maintain.

Nice compact design, I like that it comes with seed germination instructions. Decent quality materials, tray can be re-used.
