A solid option for 5.1, 7.1 audio speakers.
I have a 5.1 speaker system in my gaming room. My previous motherboards used to have connections for 7.1 or 5.1, but recently had to change to a newer motherboard and something I had to sacrifice was the speaker connections. No more 5.1. I looked for options, particularly some PCI-e sound card which ended up being a waste of money. Saw this option rated highly and decided to try. It has worked great. Sounds is pertty good and installation was just plug and play. It works with Windows 11, but I find no reason to think it won't work with other operating systems. My only drawback is that when I turn the computer on, there is strong sound coming out of the speakers when the computer starts, before posting to windows. In the past, it was not uncommon to hear the speakers sound as the computer started, but this time the sound is louder and happens twice during the startup. Still give it 5 stars since this is a minor annoyance, and doesn't detract from the overall experience.

Perfect solution for new mini-PC ...
I have an older Logitech Z-5500 THX speaker system with a subwoofer. The old Windows 10 desktop had a built-in sound card that supports 5.1 surround speakers. When I replaced the desktop with a new Windows 11 mini-PC, all of a sudden I had a problem with support for my speaker system. I decided to add this Cubilux external sound card to my mini-PC, for a very reasonable cost. You plug the three 3.5 mm speaker system cables (orange, green, black) into the Cubilux, then plug it into a USB-C port on the mini-PC. The power cable is included with the Cubilux. Wow ... the sound quality is amazing. Totally plug-and-play, no additional software needed. I did have to tweak a couple settings using the Windows control panel ... and no, you can't do it from "Settings." That's a Windows 11 "feature" which I choose not to go into here. Anyway, I highly recommend this Cubilux external sound card. It works well, sounds great, and is extremely easy to setup. Only one negative encountered so far: the subwoofer pops pretty good when the mini-PC powers up and activates the USB-C port power. That isn't Cubilux's fault; it's the function of the mini-PC power-on function. I can easily fix it by remembering to power down the Logitech speaker system before booting up. The Cubilux is tiny, about the size of a pack of gum, and has a cool-looking blue LED when powered on. You will love this external sound card for surround-sound speakers, especially if you just bought a new mini-PC like I did.

Cheap way to get surround from a PC.
Integrated well with windows surround sound. Surround works in games and media. Bass management doesn't work, so you'll have to set up EqualizerAPO to mix stereo to LFE if you want that. Low noise, plenty of output power. A good option to reuse a vintage receiver with 6 channel DVD input for a lot less than a new HDMI receiver.

Outputs are wrong
Trash do not buy. On Windows 11, it does not map correctly to the inputs. Back right was the subwoofer, back left was the center, etc. and this could NOT be changed easily without installing a lot of additional software and MAYBE it will work. I gave up and paid through the wazoo for the soundlblaster x4 that worked 100% fine.

Mac Pro 2013 - A Little Problem Solver!
I can confirm, this works with Mac Pro 2013 okay! I have a Logitech speaker system, so now I get mostly correct noise from all 5 of my speakers. Sound quality is excellent. This is a super inexpensive and easy to hide out of sight due to it's small size. On the Mac Pro, it gets its output from the USB connection, no need to plug in the line in or utilize the headphone jack. A fantastic problem solver!

Excellent 7.1 external USB sound card
Using this for 2 years now. Works perfectly still. Line in and 7.1 simultaneously without any issues since purchased.

good quality
Sound is as good as plugging directly into my computer. Everything was a simple plug and play. Cheaper than a dedicated sound card works as well.

I picked this up expressly to connect my old 5.1 Logitech speaker system with triple-AUX (3.5mm, front/center/rear) inputs to a brand new mini PC that's being used for media, and it works marvellously - truly plug and play. Sound quality is quite good, though the formats on 5.1 surround are limited (which is mentioned in the product description so you know what to expect). Build quality is also very good. My one word of caution if you are buying for a PC to play streaming services like me is streaming services DO NOT support 5.1/7.1 surround audio on a Windows PC over an AUX/USB connection. Netflix will support Dolby 5.1 if you have 5.1 equipment connected and detectable over HDMI, but otherwise none of the big ones (Netflix, Youtube, Disney Plus, Prime) will play more than stereo + subwoofer audio, which is INCREDIBLY disappointing. This still works well to connect a speaker system if you have it already, which is probably where most people would want it anyway, just don't waste your time trying to get 5.1 working in any of the streaming services, it will only worked for downloaded files and DVD/blu-ray playback.
