Solid lead for working police dogs

I've hooked four of these long lines together to play fetch with my 8-month old standard poodle puppy in an unfenced park. Working with 120 plus feet of long line gives me the freedom to exercise her without worrying about her running out into the street when a distraction is more interesting than me. I enthusiastically recommend this product. PLUSES: The material is very sturdy. When I overthrew my line length - the snaps and biothane material held up fine even though the metal ring attached to the dog collar pulled completely out of shape when she hit the end of it at a full-out run. The lines do not tangle whether working on dry or wet grass. I love the flat leather-like feel of the line. It slides easily on the grass and does not hang up in the grass tufts. The lines remain supple but not slimy when working on wet grass.

I love these biothane leashes for professional dog training work! They look good, have a great "hand feel" with no sharp edges and a nice texture, which is something i place very high value on in my equipment; it has to handle well. Plus, the dogs can drag them through all kinds of disgusting things and you just simply wipe them off & go. They don't need care products like leather and are appealing from a moral aspect for that reason as well. They are both stitched and riveted for durability, hold up great, work in all kinds of weather and cost about the same as a moderate quality leather lead. When i thought i lost my first one i bought a second to replace it because i really didn't want to use cheaper nylon leads that hurt my hand, then found it, so now i have two 6 footers, and a 5 footer for competition and big dog work. A superior alternative to leather patrol leads in my opinion.

What I like about this long line leash is setting up a tracking course for my dog to walk almost independently, letting them sniff out and find items I have hidden . The leash allows freedom for the dog, weeds and stickers do not adhere to it, easy clean up and rolling it up is easy to put away. I have not used this for a dog over 25 pounds, you may want to test the strength before using on a more powerful dog. It is a quality soft practical training device, I have now gifted three to other people/ dogs. I most definitely recommend purchasing. I hope this helps! 💗

I have a pit bull/cattle dog mix and a catahoula leopard dog/retriever mix and the Biothane leashes are the only ones I use now. It's a great product! Durable and strong while also being comfortable to hold- no matter where along the length of it you grab. The one downside for me wass during training, I would leave the dogs leashed when I let them run (so they were dragging their leashes behind them)- eventually the stitching came undone at the handle and I had to get a new one. However, I love that these stay clean no matter what kind of shenanigans we get into!

Our trainer recommended this leash for our 90 pound reactive dog. It is excellent for how I use it. I do not put knots in the leash. I put my thumb in the loop and grip around the whole loop. According to how I need to handle my dog, I adjust the length of the leash by layering it over my thumb, again keeping a firm grip. The material is strong, and doubled up it doesn't budge. My dog has been able to pull away when I've used other leashes (and grips). Not with this one, which has increased his cooperation. I've used it for a year and it looks just as good as when we bought it. I detect no weakness. I bought the one with the brass clip.

This leash is so much nicer than the nylon one we've been using for years. Yes, a leash is a very small thing and I could have continued living with the old one indefinitely as there was nothing "wrong" with it. Nonetheless, this little inexpensive thing is something that brings me considerable joy on a daily basis. I find myself thinking about how happy I am not to have to use that other leash. It sounds so silly writing it down but it's true. I think I'll just throw the other one away. Even my older kids are more enthusiastic about walking the dog now that we have this new leash. Also, I love the 4ft length so much. Our old leash was 6ft which I thought was better so the dog can sniff etc. However, I am a mom of a toddler and the dog needs to be close and not pull.. This makes it easier to control her and makes our walks so much more enjoyable for all of us. She's a pretty docile 60lb greyhound so controlling her is not too difficult but still she's a hound and not the most tractable. My 1 year old also loves being a big girl and holding the leash and this one is much easier for her to grasp than the 6ft nylon one. If you're a mom with a young child and are managing a stroller and a dog you absolutely need the 4 ft leash!!

Awesome for wet weather, lead feels nice in your hands. Strong.

My third buy of this very good product. I use it to walk my 25 pound English Cocker who loves to have some freedom on a supervised walk. Very reliable, easy to control even with winter gloves and latch very secure. Does tend to tangle at times but easy to detangle. Nice and light for a medium sized dog too! Highly recommend!
