I used it to seal a vinyl name decal on a resin dog tag. Those decal’s don’t stay well because my dog is pretty active. It so far has stayed on perfectly for a week. It has the viscosity of water so I used 3 layers making sure to let it dry well in between layers. It is waterproof as well, which I tested just by lightly scrubbing with a damp sponge. Now for the discussion about it’s glossiness. The best way to describe it is that it has the glossiness of glossy ModPodge, but not as glossy as resin. It is probably more waterproof than ModPodge so I would use it when normally I would use ModModge. So I guess it depends on what you are using it for. It is designed to be used with their stone casting medium and I bet it is perfect for that. I like it and am glad to make room for it in my arsenal of arts and crafts supplies.

Opening the product, it was extremely grainy and not well mixed. However, since I’m a bit of a newbie to crafting/DIY reno, I mixed it and applied a coat to the table I was redoing thinking it dried smooth. It does not dry smooth!!!This product creates a scratchy, rough surface. While it mostly drys clear, it leaves behind noticeable, white grainy spots that you can see in the photo. It also changes color when wet??? Now when I set a drink on my table without a coaster, it causes a gluey looking grey ring to appear that takes a few hours to disappear.No where is the rough texture mentioned in any of the product descriptions. Also, the photos advertised included items with a smooth, clear finish (e.g., resin bracelets) which is just not the case. The top of my table was a material it listed as compatible. Now a project I spent hours stenciling and painting is ruined as I can’t remove it or attempt to smooth it without damaging the original work.

This is a review of Gloss Varnish Water-Based Sealer Clear Coat - Non-Toxic, Waterproof, Stain-Resistant, with Anti-Yellowing UV Protection, for SETINSTONE Eco Resin, Cement, Plaster Varnish Glaze Top… This gloss varnish is easy to apply; just brush it on and let it dry. The varnish looks white when it goes on but becomes transparent, and my brushstrokes don’t show. I put on several coats, letting it dry between. My brush washes out easily in water. When I go back to the brush it seems stuck right at first (scary), but when I bend the bristles they come apart to be just as before—separate and semi-soft. Besides, the sealing effect, the varnish is making my projects look better. This varnish is almost the consistency of water, so when the container is full you want to make sure not jiggle it too much because it will slip over the edge (can you tell I jiggled it overly much?). The varnish hasn’t been on my artworks long enough to test the anti-yellowing UV protection, but I really hope that works! Though I used to several coats of this varnish, it didn’t get as glossy as I hoped. More glossy than satin, but not super glossy. Still, it sealed well and produced a definite sheen.

As the title says. I opened the new jar, and 1/4 of its contents was solid like slime. A bad batch? Sitting in the warehouse for years? Bad product quality control? It DOES what it says, so it works, and that's why I didn't give it one star. But I had to throw a lot of it out because of all the blobs. Will not buy again.

It works great so far! It'd take time to test the anti-yellowing part but the glossy finish is perfect for some pieces. It's really easy to apply as it's pretty thin and spreads easily. It does come out white but will dry clear if you leave it alone. The thinness of the varnish helps to even out brushstrokes, you have to work really hard to leave them behind. There was a faint smell when I first opened the container but I didn't really smell anything when I was using it. I think it works well and will continue to use this on my projects.

Seal already opened-very chunky and has a giant solid piece of old product inside.Definitely expired or opened prior.Will not be doing a return because you want it sent back- probably to resend out.

Love this glossy sealer! Spreads evenly and the no odor is very nice. It being water based is so convenient. I did two coats and the shine was great. This sealer can be applied to so many projects that the possibilities are endless. You’d be surprised at how many things you will find to use it on; everything from painted rocks to resin!

Really nice varnish for my wood engravings.eco-friendly; no smells or fumes; dries fast; looks great; protects my work and adds a little panache.
