I received my O'Delice Bread Lame a few weeks ago now and wanted to get a few uses out of it before reviewing it. The bread lame comes just as it's shown in the product pictures. The box is very nice and since it looks good, I have no problem keeping my bread lame in the box, and the box on my counter with my baking supplies. My first few tries at scoring, I was a little disappointed. My razor was getting stuck, my cuts weren't deep enough, and it was making a little bit of a mess of the top of my bread. However, I had a feeling that it wasn't some much an issue with the bread lame and more an issue with my technique. Several Loaves later, I'm finally getting the technique down and am completely satisfied with my O'Delice Bread Lame. It's all about confidence and getting the right angle. The lame does it's job of looking sleek and making it easy for me to get smooth strokes as I score my bread.

I was hesitating to buy one because I had been using a razor blade and thought it was working sufficiently but then I do make bread multiple times a week and thought what the heck I'll give it a try. It definitely works much better than the safety razor I was using and does what I think a bread lame is supposed to do. It's a very heavy well-made handle and feels solid in your hand. I can imagine it will last for many years. The case is nice (and hey when you're using what's basically a very sharp shiv as a cooking utensil that's good to have. The last thing I need is to stick my hand into a drawer and cut myself, and I'm clumsy so I probably would).

Elegant design, works great. I like that it uses a double-edged blade. The blade goes in slightly bent, which seems to make it easier to cut a smooth curve. Woth no moving parts, this tool should last a lifetime.

I like having a stainless steel lame I can put in dishwasher. A curved blade makes it easy to cut non-straight designs into the loaf before baking. One of the downsides to this lame is it’s a little harrowing putting on the blade. The directions show an awkward if not darn near impossible way to attach the blade. I found it was much easier to arc the blade using my thumb and index finger of my left, then holding the handle in my right hand, guide the tip through the notches in the blade. When I need straight cuts I use a lame with a straight blade.

Well made, great finish, a joy to use. The lame holds the blade at the perfcect arc to make scoring easier. The supplied case has a magnetic catch which is a nice touch. O'Deluce has made a work of art that will last a lifetime.

Looks like it could be great if the package had been complete. The stainless handle arrived sticking out of the package and was bent in transit. The packaging is insufficient for keeping the lame in place. It also arrived without the instructions pictured or the handmade linen bag. The blades were also removed from their packaging and strewn about, as well as on missing. All in all disappointing as my bread is proofing right now, and makes me uncertain how so many issues were missed. The weight and feel seem nice, may have loved it if the packing showed more care and attention to detail. UPDATE: after my review posted I was sent a new lame and the package was complete. I’m very happy with the complete set and love the little linen bag to cover the lame when I’m between the two loaves, before I disassemble it until next time. Easy to use and has definitely made my bread baking much easier! Thanks for your prompt replacement O’Delice!

I bought this because of the blades, more expensive though. I wont refurn this from Korea. A little disappointed.

Previously had a very basic bread scoring lame but lost it in a recent house move so I was delighted to find this when looking for a replacement. Very promptly delivered and nicely packaged with explicit instruction about how to mount the blades. The blades also came in a nice linen bag too. The stainless steel is well polished and a nice weight when held in the hand. For those who have never used a lame before and just used knives or even a razor balde alone the lame makes a major difference in use. Because it holds the blade in a curve it is easy to get a nice slice without the usual dragging of the blade. Overall very pleased with my purchase

Exactly what it looks like .. solid one pc, not much could go wrong with it.. don't see why this wouldn't be the last one I own and gift to my children when I'm done with it.

Scoring bread... good tool,,,, good value
