I like how easy it was to install this cover and it looks so stream line on my truck, F150.

High quality, but having 2 people for the install sure helps. Just allow about 2 hours for the install.

I purchased the the BAKFlip F1 over 12 years ago for my 2012 F-150 and have mostly been satisfied with the performance. So when I recently purchased a new 2024 F-150 I decided to purchase another one. Well, like so many products nowadays, the manufacturer decided to sacrifice quality and durability to reduce his cost. As described by several others, the primary issues are that the cover is lighter and flimsier and also the mounting rails are now plastic rather than aluminum. During installation many of the latches would not snap into place because the flexible plastic rails were not in perfect alignment. The company is clearly aware of these issues as they go to great extent in the instructions to explain how important it is for rail alignment, suggesting that if there are any problems it's the customers fault. This alignment problem did not exist with the rigid aluminum rails on older models. After several hours of adjustments and fine tuning I eventually was able to get all the latches to snap into place when closing the cover, but this time consuming struggle should not have been necessary. This bed cover should be a premium product because it comes at a premium price. And I'm certain it won't last as long as my first one. While it's not worth my time and effort to return this item, I wouldn't purchase this bed cover again. I'm sure I can find a bed cover of similar (or better) quality at roughly half the price I just paid for this one.

Easy to install. Gets the job done & looks terrific. Flush fit is sleek and reasonably tight: Now for the bad. The product weighs substantially less than prior versions which I have purchased in the past for F150 Ford pick ups. They have worked a lot of manufacturing cost out of the product and in my opinion, sacrificed some durability along the way. Don’t think for a moment that you’re going to stand on top of this thing like you could with the past versions despite what some people say. If you value your life, don’t do it. However, because the panels physically weigh less they’re certainly easier to open and close. How much less? No I didn’t take the time to put them on a scale, but rest assured, they are dramatically lighter weight than the original. Keeps the water out of the bed for the most part. Overall, I still think it’s a good product, but I knocked off one star for clearly what they’re doing to the long-term durability of the bed cover.

This is the 2nd Bak Flip I have owned. The first I had professionally installed. This one I did myself. It was simple and gives my truck a huge “trunk”. I highly recommend.
