Easy to assemble, does what it needs to do.
I was happy to find these little shelves and was even more pleased that the two pieces may be arranged differently. I have about a dozen books I want by my desk. However, they were taking up my desk, which felt too cluttered. I got these little shelves, and they provided the extra space I desperately needed. They are versatile: big enough to hold my dozen books and even some of my trinkets. I like them. They also don't take over all my desk so it looks more organized. There were no missing parts. The box they came in had all the necessary parts to assemble them and included a small screwdriver. I did have to take it apart a couple of times because the holes have indentations where the screw head will go, so watch out for those. Otherwise, the screws will stick out. They seem to be well-built, but time will tell. The color blends well with the rest of my desk. I wanted white, but I'm glad I went with the brown colored instead. I recommend them.

Just the right size and a gorgeous purple color too
I bought two sets of purple ones and love them. Now everything is within reach, and my desk looks SO organized and peaceful. I thought I would mind the screw holes being visible (there are no matching color stickers in the box), but the screws are a darker metal instead of shiny silver. So they don't look bad, actually. I purchased two extra things to make them perfect: 1) I bought baskets to organize further and declutter. It was easy to find perfect ones here on Amazon that fit right underneath the larger space on the bottom. 2) To minimize the shelves moving around, I also bought some non-slip pads and cut them to size. I put them underneath on several points, and now the shelves are stable enough to stand up to my cat scent-marking them! (see pic with red dots)

Great! If you know what to expect.
First, I didn’t use the included screwdriver. I have a mini ratcheting one that made installation super easy.Next, I don’t agree with any review that says you need a drill for assembly. Mine would overpower this, because the pieces are too delicate. It came with a small chip, but once the shelf was populated it was a non-issue.The screw holes are countersunk— very nice and convenient, and with my ratcheting screwdriver assembly took no hand strength at all. I chose to make backing for the shelves so my items don’t slip through the back, as mine is not against a wall. Some tips:- The pieces seem symmetrical but the edges will only be flush if you attach them on the correct side.- Don’t screw this in too hard, the screws can go right through. It’s not high quality, but it works just fine.- As others say it’s two pieces; I put some double sided tape on the spot where the shelves stack, just so they don’t easily slip out of place.

Small but good!
If you get creative with it, you can set it up in different ways! It’s a great little bookshelf—perfect for when I started reading more and needed to organize my growing collection. Definitely recommend it if you’re short on space or just getting into reading!

Simple shelf unit.
It was somewhat difficult to figure out the instructions, but once I got it it was easy to put together. It is a nice, simple shelf unit.

Either bad directions or I can’t read
It’s super cute! I really like it, I bought it for my roommate who was previously using milk crates stacked on top of one another like a heathen when we have this shelving unit technology at our fingertips. The color and feel is really nice, and I liked that it wasn’t genuine wood.My real complaint is with assembly. The instructions don’t actually help at all. There’s no definitive marks on the panels to specific which is which, and the instructions don’t have measurements to specify which either. It’ll just say “shorter” or “longer” which is definitely not helpful. I put it together wrong after a half hour, and had to reassemble it. It was a total headache. The boards also didn’t have enough screw holes on one side to allow for the block shaped section to be screwed in on both sides, even tho that’s what directions (I think) said to do. I ended up needing to just use nails since I didn’t have a power screwdriver. The unit, however, comes with a screwdriver, which I really appreciated! But I had to use it so much that I got a blister from it on my fingers so that sucked, but might just be my weird thin fragile skin. The corners of this unit are also weirdly sharp, I was stepping over it and literally cut my foot open. This however might be another example of my weird thing fragile skin. And also a sign I’m too clumsy to put these kinds of things together. The unit itself is sturdy, can hold a lot of textbooks, and is versatile. You can lay books however you want where ever! As long as your screws (and improv nails) are tight and secure enough, this shelf isn’t going anywhere. I was concerned with the weight limit, but it can easily hold all the textbooks that made her previous milk crate contraption bow in places. Additionally, how the two pieces stack, I couldn’t get that to happen seamlessly. There’s a little gap of either being off centered or needing to put something under the legs on the outside board to lift it up. That’s an actually annoying aspect, besides having to nail the piece in because it didn’t have premade holes for the screws. All in all, however, I would definitely buy this unit again! Just have someone with thick skin and picture-interpretation-reading skills put it together for me (seriously, there’s like, no words to follow!).
