Great Instrument
After reading several reviews about this six string bass, I was convinced enough to buy it. My background, I am new in the bass world and I was brave enough to jump onto a 6 string. My take on the instrument: It is well designed and sounds great out of the box. It is a beautiful instrument in my opinion at a fraction of big name brands. However, you might need to tweak it to suit your needs as I did. Tweaks: I replaced the sound jack since the one that comes with it honestly doesn't grip well and that affects the sound output. The preamp that comes with it works but I wanted to experiment with a single NFP filter preamp. With the NFP I kept the 3 way switch that came with it. I replaced the stock vol and tone pots with B500k and added a 0.2uF capacitor to the tone port. With the NFP preamp I was able to make the bass both passive and active. So my apologies to a reply I did in regards to the pickups that come with the bass. They are actually passive pickups. They are a little loud than name brands but with the NFP I was able to attenuate the pickup output to my liking. I also replaced the strings with Markbass Ultimate series with soft touch. They were $20 off so not bad and they are so soft on my fingers. They are round wound so versatile for different genres. I also insulated all the cavities with copper tape including the cover. I also sandwiched rubber between the bridge and the body to make it nice and quiet maintaining sound fidelity. My total including the bass was about $380. It sounds much better and cleaner it's hard to put it down once I have started playing it. I hope this is helpful and glad to demystify some conceptions about the bass. I love tinkering so who knows what else I will do to it.

Not just good for the money...just GOOD!
I've been playing for 46 years and have always had an affinity for budget basses. I'm not going to say I find this to be a good bass for the money, but that I find this to be a good bass, period! Other than some WRONG information in the descriptions, I have few complaints about this bass purchase. That WRONG information includes: 1. This has a pan knob, not 3-position selector (there are no selectors at all) 2. This is a 6 string, not 4 string 3. It is Glarry branded, not Ktaxon (unbranded), meaning it is the better version of the two Now, the pros: 1. Solid construction. I don't see or feel anything loose or weak on this bass. Not even the knobs. 2. The frets are finished perfectly. Not even the slightest protrusion past the edges of the fretboard. 3. Tight tuners. The only slippage experienced is as the new strings relax. 4. CRAZY STRONG preamp! OMG, get ready for it! 5. More of a flattened oval neck profile than a C. Imagine between a standard neck and a Music Man. 6. Really good weight and weight distribution, whether sitting or standing. 7. Smooth and consistent knobs. But remember these are TONE knobs, not EQ. 8. It is quite huggable. IYKYK Now the cons: 1. No passive mode. You MUST have a battery inserted to play into anything. 2. This buzzes more than a little. Touching the strings greatly reduces it, but I've seen reviews in which shielding had been installed and ground wiring was sure to be in contact with the bridge, without improvement. 3. The bridge pickup posts do not align with the strings, causing significant volume DECREASE in the B and C strings versus the others. This is very frustrating when wanting to solo or do chords, or when needing that luscious low end that we get 6-strings for. More: . It came with a hairline crack in the finish (only) of the headstock. The integrity of the wood seems uncompromised. . It has decent quality roundwound strings. I wish I knew that flats were so hard to find (and cost 2/3 the price of the bass). . The included cable is easily $20 retail quality, which is insane for a $99 instrument! Knowing what I now know, I would not have had an issue paying more for this bass. I'm already planning my next Glarry purchase: a 5-string P/J style.

Amazing For the Price!!
Fantastic bass guitar for the price, and proud to have it as my main bass, this bass has a great feel, strings could be better, and some knobs are slightly loose. But, for the price, this bass guitar is great. I use it for High School Jazz, Worship at church, and Metal in my free time, and this bass never disappoints.

Best 6 string bass deal!
Amongst some of my instruments located at church due to my doing work at my house, you can see the white Glarry 6 string bass. Okay, yes, there is a slight buzz when not touching the strings but I have purchased copper tape and will see if this remedies the problem. Honestly.....I like everything about this bass except for the provided strings (they sound great, just a little rough on the fingers) and there were a few knicks and scratches in the finish on the back of the upper horn. I don't care about that since, to me everything else about this bass outshines these issues. Will I make changes? Besides what I have already mentioned, possibly change te pots (just a little scratchy) , but I am happy with the purchase and would encourage you if you are looking for a 6 string to purchase as well.

Great value, super fun to play
Really surprised by how much I really like playing this bass. I have other basses ibanez, squier, just to name a few, but I didn't have a 5 or 6 string bass and wasn't sure if I was going to like playing one so I didn't want to spend a ton of money. I saw the reviews on this one and decided to take a chance very happy I did. Plays very well having the extra low and high strings makes playing so much nicer. The only thing I didn't like and I'm not sure if it's the guitar or what, I had a hard time tuning in the c string. I did however get it tuned and it seems to hold well. Excellent bass if you are looking to try a 6 string and don't want to break the bank on a big name brand.

A really fab guitar, sounds great, plays great nice action, lovely tactile feel to the body and quite striking to look at. An added bonus is that the guitar is actually a fair bit lighter than my five string Ibanez (which makes gigging and going to jams a whole lot more pleasurable) Being on the cheaper side doesn't effect the quality in any way, you get a plectrum a soft case, strap and a rather excellent quality guitar lead included as well. I got a bit of worry when I plugged it in and couldn't get any sound untill I remembered it is an active guitar and needs a battery (PP3 easily inserted into the slot at the back... not supplied) As there are six strings the guitar is a bit neck heavy which is easily sorted by having a wider strap not made of nylon or similar slippy material. I would recommend getting one of these basses, great fun to play and look cool.

Pretty decent bass for the money. Tuned the bass,& noticed that I will have to do a proper setup. The strings that are on it feel cheap, but will do for now. All together, this product is satisfactory & a great deal.

Guitar seems lajit for the price, however I gave it a three star due to lack of care with handling at the factory. Guitar showed up with serious gouges in the back of the neck affecting playability. It’s not a big enough deal for me to send it back and I will be able to sand it out smooth but, it’s just worth noting to watch for blemishes. Body and hardware are good.
