Works too good!
My 5m old doberman mix puppy loves this thing! It keeps him entertained for at least 15 minutes, and he really files his nails down to nubs. For that reason, I'm only going to bring it out once every few weeks. It definitely does its job! I bought extra filing pads so he shouldn't need his front paws clipped for a while. We skipped to the last step & he got the idea very quickly!I'm a vet tech & will recommend this product to clients with food-motivated dogs that are difficult for front nail trims. In my experience, the front nails are usually the trigger for dogs that don't like their nails trimmed. This would be amazing & not stress the dog out, which is always the number one priority!

A miracle worker
My dog hates getting her nails clipped, but she loves this food dispenser. It took her a while to figure it out, but food is a strong motivator for her, so she figured it out. After a few days of using it, I noticed her nails much shorter and smoother to the touch. I even starter worrying about them getting too short. Now we use it every few weeks and it feels like the right frequency to keep her nails in check. It doesn't reach the really sharp dewclaw nails on her front paws, but those are easier to clip with traditional clippers than her big strong nails. It's really easy and fun to use, but it is only compatible with smaller dry foods. If you have meaty chunks in your kibble like Purina One Smart Blend has, they will need to be removed first, which is a little inconvenient. The suction doesn't work very well, but when placed on carpet or a rug, it doesn't fly around too much, and it's okay without them. It's a life saver when it comes to keeping my dog's nails in check.

Great product for those dogs sensitive to nail trimming
This is a great product. We recently adopted a 3.5 yr old from a shelter. He would not let anyone near his nails so we gave this a shot. I worked with him during each step and gave plenty of time (weeks) before adding the nail file on top. My current struggle is getting him to use his other front paw š¾. I welcome any suggestions on how to get him to alternate. I know with rescue animals they need extra time. One foot vs the other in photos after a week or two of using this product.

Mostly Just Jams
I have an incredibly temperamental dog who won't let anyone touch his feet. Desperate, I bought this. I have two dogs - one has figured this out, one hasn't. We're still working on that. But the real issue is the size of the slots. I specifically bought training treats, but the holes for the treats to drop through is just a hair too small, so the treats just constantly get jammed in there and the lid will not bounce all the way back up. Then I have to shove them under the doors too because they don't always make it that far if they do get out of the main slot.I ended up cutting the training treats into four tiny pieces to make this work. So, that's fine I guess, but what a PITA when they could have just made it appropriately sized for standard training treats.

Great Puppy toy/tool
This is great for an active puppy especially since they need to eat several times a day. Takes a few days teaching for one to catch on to what makes the food come out. This also wears him out so it's a good bedtime tool.

Not for quick learners
Good concept, but thereās a few things wrong with this, at least for my puppy. Got this when he was nearly 3 months old and he learned how to use it within 2 tries even with the nail filer. Problem #1 is, he quickly learned that he didnāt need to use his nails so now his pushes it with his paw pad and itās been wearing on it. Problem #2 is, this is supposed to also act as a slow feeder but you can't adjust the amount of food that dispenses so he finished eating nearly 1 cup of food in 5 minutes. So I wouldnāt recommend this if you have a dog thatās very good at puzzles.

I was skeptical at first, but it works pretty well!
This dog feeder is great! It took some time for my dog to figure it out (this one is trickier than most) and my dog is very food motivated. I would say the first 10 or so times I had her try it she just gave up and went to lay down. But eventually she got it and it worked well! I still have to trim her nails some on the side (especially since it gets her nails unevenly) but not as much as before. And it gives her a fun puzzle to do while she eats.
