I picked up all four of the LTR Commander decks and honestly… Wizards knocked it out of the Shire with these. Whether you're a Tolkien fanatic, a Commander lover, or just someone who likes fun, flavorful decks, these deliver big. Here's my breakdown in the same order I played them: --- 1. Riders of Rohan – 5/5 Absolutely stunning for aggro players. Éowyn leads the charge with a mix of humans and haste, creating relentless momentum. The deck plays fast and hits hard, and the synergy among humans is tight and thematic. Great mana base, awesome reprints, and the new cards feel powerful but fair. Plus, the alternate art lands are gorgeous. --- 2. Food and Fellowship – 5/5 This one surprised me the most. Frodo and Sam dish out so much value. The Food synergy starts slow but snowballs fast—suddenly you're at 50 life with an army of hobbits and tokens. It's a joy to pilot if you enjoy life gain, recursion, and control. The thematic flavor of “fellowship” mechanics really shines here. --- 3. Elven Council – 5/5 A control-combo player’s dream. Galadriel and her elves manipulate the board with political “vote” mechanics that feel fresh and interactive. You’ll be drawing cards, stacking buffs, and influencing the game in subtle but powerful ways. The deck rewards smart play and has amazing upgrade paths. Also: Elves. Drawing cards. What’s not to love? --- 4. The Hosts of Mordor – 5/5 Evil never felt so good. This deck churns out Orcs, drains life, and plays the long game. It has incredible board presence and surprisingly strong late-game power. Sauron brings real menace to the table—every spell feels weighty. If you want a deck that ramps, reanimates, and wrecks faces, this is your deck. --- I’ve already bought sleeves and a deck box for each—these are staying in my collection long-term. Great value, incredible synergy, and some of the most thematic precons I’ve ever played. Bravo, Wizards.
