Quick read, will give you enough to pass the exam
If you are an experienced software tester with agile experience, this book and the ISTQB downloads are all you need to pass the ISTQB Foundation Agile Test exam. You can go through the book in a weekend. The book includes quiz questions and a sample exam which are similar to the actual ISTQB exam. Note: before starting this book, it's important to 1) read ISTQB syllabus and 2) review the test techniques sections of your ISTQB foundation textbook or course material. The index at the end of the book is well done, helpful in finding topics you want to review. The only criticisms I have are a) Paperback book font is san serif, font color is dark grey. Hard to read without a bright reading light. b) Glossary at start of book is inadequate. Not enough entries in glossary, not enough detail.

For a book costing over £30, the reader deserves better
On the back cover, Gualtiero Bazzana, the president of ISTQB, says, “A book I am confident will become a milestone in the testing domain and a reference for the Agile community”. He clearly hasn't read it.For starters, this is a very uneven book in dire need of editing. It is very wordy and imprecise all the way through. Some of the text looks like it was written by the metre, and successively decomposes key phrases as if a machine wrote it. Paragraph 1 on page 67 uses the word “Agile” a total of 6 times in 6 lines, for example. Three of those instances appear in a single sentence!Terms are frequently used without definition, and some seem to be made up on-the-fly to fit the situation because they appear nowhere in the standard ISTQB glossary. You'll be introduced to concepts like feature verification testing without explanation, so be prepared to have to google them.Perhaps the worst aspect of this book is that it contains just three chapters. The first is 36 pages long, the second is 63, but the third consists of a whopping 100 pages! There are six distinct topics across these three chapters, so why not refactor the text into six meaningful chapters? A related problem is that sections 3.2 and 3.3 have no subsection numbers at all despite the diagrams being numbered, so you can't easily find things. Also, the diagram of an example quality risk analysis template on page 112 is a complete mess. It looks like it was done in MS Word as an afterthought. This in a textbook that costs over £30.By the second read-through, it feels like there's a lot less to the ISTQB Agile extension than meets the eye, so maybe the text has been padded and made vague to occlude its true lack of overall content. Or maybe it's done to reflect the seemingly vague, makeshift nature of Agile development.Like the BCS ISTQB Foundation Level study guide, everything you need to pass the exam is actually here, but you will really have to work for it!

A 227 pages of wordy and overly verbose text about Agile testing: Definition of irony
227 pages on Agile testing that is wordy, overly verbose, and as dull as dishwater. One of the big messages of the book (and Agile) is to use lightweight concise documentation, so quite ironic really to then produce this! Can I suggest if the author really believes his message he should have just created maybe 50 short sharp revision cards covering all the main points!

Product arrived bent
The contents in the book are fine. Just the book has been bent in half with a massive crease in the middle. Really bad for £26!!!

Great book for exam preparation
It is a great book to prepare for the ISTQB Exam. I studied with only this book and the ISTQB Syllabus and it's enough study material. The book also contains an example exam. Also ISTQB does recommend this book for the exam preparation on its webpage.I took the exam today and passed!
