My previous PSU was a Seasonic built XFX XTR 650W and powered my systems for the last 10 years without breaking a sweat. This year, I figured it was time to retire it given the mileage. Initially, I was torn between the Corsair rm850x and the Seasonic Vertex GX-850, but ended going with the latter owing to my previous experience with Seasonic. The unit is extremely well built and the cables are all individually sleeved which is a nice touch. In hybrid mode, the fan never spins at all despite my PC being under full load. I have a Ryzen 7 5700X paired with a RTX 4070 Super which barely sip power and 850W is more than plenty for my current and future needs. Even with the fan turned on the unit is absolutely silent. My unit came with the regular 12vhpwr cable, but I emailed Seasonic with my proof of purchase and they sent me the newer 12V-2x6 cable free of charge. Also, the unit comes with a 10 year warranty which gives me peace of mind. You can't go wrong with Seasonic.

I am by no means tech or PC savvy. My first gaming PC was built using iBUYPOWER and since then I have replaced parts and upgraded, on a plug-and-play basis. The PSU was the most recent. I had almost the same exact model in my PC, except it was a 650. I upgraded my GPU, installed a disc drive and faster RAM. My PC had also not been operating the best and everything I had read suggested I begin by replacing the PSU. I would like to say this replacement combined with updating the BIOS was my overall success (for those who might be getting BSOD or random black screen while the PC is fully powered up - related to possible Kernel-Power Event ID 41 - start with your PSU and BIOS!) The 850 will have more than enough power to handle any of those CPU/GPU/RAM or any other upgrades you are looking to put in. I have an RTX 2060 Super, and it handles it no problem (it also says it is rated for 3/4K series). Overall, installation is self-explanatory, and the process is plug and play. I recommend you give yourself plenty of time, space and patience and read over all the literature included in the box. The box comes with plenty of new cables which again, the instructions recommend be replaced. With the cables are also Velcro ties and zip ties to promote neater wire management. Overall, I recommend Seagate products. This is my second PSU (the first one was purchased in 2019, and I replaced it the end of 2024) - depending on how frequently you game and the load you put on your PC, this in general is the life expectancy for a PSU. Great value for the power you will get out of it and rest assured, you can trust Seagate. They make durable and reliable products!

It’s great! Seasonic offers super reliable Power supplies with a 10 year warranty, so by the time that warranty runs out, you may have very well upgraded. It’s easy to install, and the modular interface makes it easy to get cables you don’t currently need out of the case. But while it isn’t the cheapest 850W PSU out there, it is definitely going to be one of the best. It also looks nice which isn’t a big deal for something you’ll never look at but it’s definitely a plus.

Purchased this to replace a 7.5 year old Thermaltake that was apparently causing the PC to spontaneously reboot. Bought Seasonic on the brand's reputation and from what I can see this seems to be a well-made power supply with a more than adequate selection of cables that were more than long enough, even when routing them behind the motherboard tray. If anything it's possible I could have done with a couple of shorter cables. I've noticed no sound from the power supply, even while gaming, although to be fair at such times I may be more focused on the game. But in normal operation, completely silent.

Great. No problems at all. Really glad to not even have any coil whine sounds at all.

Very easy PSU to work with. No noticeable noise. Love that it comes with a cable just for newer GPUs, RTX 4080 Super in my case. Nothing of issue to note. Great price. Seasonic's been my go-to for some time now and they don't disappoint.

I bought a Corsair rm850 as well as a cooler master mwe 850w v3. Returned both of those after the coolmaster arrived D.O.A., and the Corsair wouldn’t fit my case but man, the vertex series is great the price was $10 more than the corasiar, it’s atx 3.1 (the Corsair is 3.0) comes with a 12v high power cable, as well as zip ties AND Velcro ties, a bag for both psu (sort of irrelevant after installation) and the cables, and looks better too. No one should ever trust just one brand but dam Seasonic makes it hard to buy something else with the vertex series

la fuente de poder denota calidad en cada pieza y si tengo que decirlo los cables (aunque a muchos no les gusta) me parecen de lo mejor que he visto, la fuente misma es pesada, un diseño sobrio y con buenas calificaciones por todos lados, reviews cybenetics etc. Por experiencia, cualquier PSU que tenga coil whine, generará problemas al resto del equipo, sincronizando el mismo zumbido a otras partes del mismo, por ejemplo la GPU, (la MAG MSI nunca me dio ese problema ni las TT GF) por lo que decidí devolverla, aunque posiblemente le daré otra oportunidad mas adelante a un modelo superior. Podría ser mala suerte, la verdad la fuente me gustó mucho, espero que tengas mejor suerte que yo. Vale la pena probar

Seasonic è da sempre sinonimo di garanzia di qualità e durata nel tempo.. lo si vede subito non appena lo si ha davanti, montato senza problemi e va da Dio oltre ad avere gli attacchi di nuova generazione. L’unica cosa che non capivo (lo sentivo caldo) è che la modalità ibrida è attiva di default, pertanto bisogna pigiare il pulsante dietro per lasciarlo in modalità classica e far sì che la ventola giri costantemente

Das gibt es zu beachten! Wer sich jetzt ein neues Netzteil kauft, sollte wissen, wie es um die Belastbarkeit des 12VHPWR (12V-2x6) 600W Kabels steht. Z. B. liegt bei einem 850 Watt Netzteil das Volumen des 600 Watt Kabels bei maximal 300 Watt. Online zu lesen auf Hardware Busters (Cybenetics), "12VHPWR Connector/Cable: PSU’s Size (Watt) Does Matter!" Hinzu kommt der Wechsel von ATX 3.0 auf ATX 3.1. Und auch wenn dabei das 600 Watt Kabel in 12V-2x6 umbenannt wurde, bleibt es bei der gleichen Ausführung. Hier wurden "nur" die Adapter am Netzteil und an der Grafikkarte optimiert. Auch das kann man auf Hardware Busters "Everything you need to know about 12V-2x6 and didn't know who to ask?" lesen. Ich habe das VERTEX GX-850 80Plus Gold ATX 3.0 gekauft. Ich bin auch mit diesem ATX-Standard bei einer "RTX 4070 Ti Super" zufrieden. Netzteil, Anleitungen, Kabel und Zubehör sind hochwertig. Die Kabel lassen sich mühelos formen und anschließen; das Design gefällt mir sehr! Ebenso möchte ich auch den PSU-Tester erwähnen, mit dem man ohne kompletten Einbau prüfen kann, ob das Netzteil funktioniert. Hierzu gibt es auch Online eine Anleitung. Leider ist dieser Kauf für mich aber auch mit einer Enttäuschung verbunden, da bei meinem Netzteil der Lüfter sporadisch klackt. An dieser Stelle noch vielen, vielen Dank an Amazon für den guten Kundenservice. Nachtrag: Das Seasonic-Netzteil wurde ausgetauscht. Der neue Lüfter ist praktisch nicht zu hören, auch mit "Hybrid Mode" im Off: Was zwingend - darauf weist Seasonic in der Anleitung auch hin - notwendig ist, wenn der Lüfter nach unten zeigt, bzw. die Luft nach unten heraus schaufelt. Ergänzen möchte ich noch, dass man darauf achten sollte, dass das Netzteil optimalerweise zu 50 % ausgelastet wird, da es bei dieser Auslastung seinen besten Wirkungsgrad erzielt. Das lässt sich leicht mit einem Online-Kalkulator errechnen. Abgesehen von den "Startschwierigkeiten" hat Seasonic mit diesem Netzteil Vorbildcharakter bewiesen. Das tun sie mit ihren Anleitungen, einer ordentlichen Baustruktur des Vertex, ästhetischen Kabeln mit präzisen Anschlüssen und Benennungen, plus Zubehör. Inklusive einer von 10 auf 12 Jahre erweiterten Garantie. Eigentlich wollte ich wieder ein Super Flower, habe mich dann aber für Seasonic entschieden. 2. Nachtrag: Seit September 2025 macht der Lüfter des Ersatz-Netzteils bei jedem Startvorgang des Computers und ebenso im Betrieb sporadisch Geräusche. Es klackt, wie schon in der ersten Beschreibung. Das ist sehr enttäuschend. Und traurig, dass es an so einer einfachen Komponente scheitert. Ich habe jetzt bei Amazon von einem anderen Hersteller ein Netzteil bestellt.
