Purchased this to repair a book.. It did an ok job but doesn't go transparent like real japanese tissue, more translucent. It worked well enough for my needs but would not be good if applied over text or images

A handy item for book repair

I did a lot of reading on archival/document repair tape before blindly diving in and buying the first thing that caught my eye, and this appeared to be one of the best products out there for my needs. The tape is very impressive and worth the money. I have read and seen reviews on various websites stating how difficult it is to remove this tape from its backing. To be fair, it can be pretty tricky - but you're also not dealing with Scotch Tape here. This tape is thin like rice paper (maybe thinner) and needs to be more protected. There are several ways to remove this tape, including: bending a small corner to loosen the tape from the backing, using your fingernails or a knife. I discovered my own method of removing it, and I would suggest to anyone purchasing this tape to practice with a small piece of it first to see what method works best for you. Like anything else in life, you need to practice before getting the hang of it. This tape is not completely invisible, but then again no tape is. If you're using the tape to repair dust jackets or one-sided documents, then I would suggest making the repairs on the reverse side of these things so that no tape is visible from the front. I have already tested this on one dust jacket and one document, and repairing from the opposite side only works exceptionally well. This product is definitely worth the money, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a safe way to repair documents and other paper related items.

Very good for repairing small tears in thin bible paper. On that not completely invisible, but pretty close & when you draw over the top with coloured pencils it is an invisible mend. Good for repairing old, thin, paper booklets, where yes you can see it, but it does a good flexible job. As others have said removing it from the backing can be a bit tricky & if you unpeel a longer strip be careful or it will curl back on itself quickly. Would & am buying again.

Uitstekend om documenten of boeken mee te repareren. De tape is heel dun en bijna onzichtbaar, zodat scheuren lijken te verdwijnen. Omde band te repareren heb je een ander type tape nodig. Voor de stofomslag perfect!
