Huch & Friends 879424 "Yinsh Board Game

This game is out of production in the USA. I was afraid this version by Hutch! would turn out to be a counterfeit or cheap bootleg. Even the guys at my local game shop in New York had never heard of Hutch! But, Yinsh is listed as one of the best abstract strategy games of all time, so I bought it (even though the international shipping made it kind of expensive). This Hutch! edition is the real deal. The build quality is very high. The board is large, sturdy, bright, and handsome. The pieces are heavy and solid and make a nice clack when you tap them together. And the game itself is very fun and interesting. My eight-year-old picked it up immediately. An instant must have for any game collection.

The game is made with quality in mind. Simple rules, but constantly changing as you progress. Looking for a nice boardgame to challenge your thinking, this is it. You'll always be looking forward to the next game night.

This game is as elegant and satisfying in its production standards as it is in its simple mechanics. Think of checkers, Reversi, 5-in-a-row, backgammon and even ring toss (of all things!) combined into one. I give this “second best” simply because DVONN is even more aesthetically appealing.

My son wanted this because he loves math and it appealed to his inner mathematician. I am the least mathematically oriented person ever, and I beat him frequently haha! He looks at the board and sees geometry and I see fun little circles. I actually like this better than probably any of the board games we've played. The rounds pass quickly and its fully engaging.

Wife and I love board games, most rely too much on luck—>this one is good.

Simple rules, complex strategy. You can play with 4 players and alternate turns. Unlimited replay value

For many, it is the best game of the series. I'm going to buy more in the series.
