Fjallraven Greenland Travel Size Wax Proofing

Great but very small. See photos next to a penny. I didn't know that you have to apply then apply heat such as with a hairdryer to set the wax in material.

This is a small block of wax - I bought it for a was cotton hat which was not completely waterproof . The wax block needs to be a little warm and the textile ( hat ) also put in a hot airing cupboard first. The wax went on and at first it was streaky, but a little bit of rubbing with some old shirt material worked it in, and became invisible. The Colour did not show up. Afterwards the main part of the har was visibly water-repellent and more importanlty the seams did not leak. It ideal for smaller items/

Seems decent enough, however tiny for the expensive price tag!

The results haven’t been tested yet. The small bars really are too small. Bigger bar next time

Di’s exactly what it says on the box. I waved my coat twice and there’s still plenty left over.

Bought this as wanted to attempt water proofing my Fjallraven shorts pockets and have to say that it is far easier to apply than one might think - don't bother with the iron just use a hairdryer, much quicker and easier. I applied four coats to the pockets on my jeans, which following this were noticeably 'stiffer' in the fabric. I got caught out in the open ground in an all out cloud burst and was initially disappointed to see that my fabric on my pockets got soaked with the rest of me (I was expecting it to bead off and remain dry!?!?) only to then see that my pockets dried out almost instantaneously and everything in them remained dry as a bone. Will certainly be re-waxing again.

Cera in formato ridotto, il blocco è di soli 20 grammi, pagata all'incirca 7 euro. Ho incerato senza problemi un cappotto raven XXS (con doppia passata di cera) e ne è avanzata più della metà che probabilmente utilizzerò per la borsa con lo stesso tessuto. Il prezzo è alto ma la resa ottima, inoltre è inodore e non appiccica, facilissima da usare, non lascia residui; non rende il tessuto più rigido o polveroso (come ho incredibilmente letto in giro), solo più idrorepellente/impermeabile e resistente al vento. Circa il fatto che tenda a macchiare o scurire i fijallraven di colore chiaro non saprei, avendo articoli scuri, ma ritengo sia possibile. Per la stesura ho puntato il phon sul blocco di cera per pochi secondi, poi ho tracciato delle linee vicine e parallele dall'alto verso il basso sul cappotto, infine ho utilizzato il phon per "fondere" la cera nel tessuto. Ho impiegato circa 15 minuti per effettuare due passate. Si elimina lavando il cappotto a 40 gradi in lavatrice e Fijallraven consiglia di utilizzarla sui tessuti G1000 per renderli più resistenti e durevoli nel tempo, quindi con una certa costanza e non solo in occasione di lavaggi, o per stretta necessità di impermeabilizzare.

Ich habe mit dem Wachs zwei Jacken, eine Hose, und ein paar Handschuhe imprägniert. Ich habe dafür nichtmal die Hälfte verbraucht!

It's great for waterproofing canvas-type fabrics. Easy to apply with a hair dryer. It's recommend for G1000 fabric, but works for many. Was great on an Abisko. Felt like it really completed the bag. G1000 is an excellent fabric. I used it on a Kanken and was happy too. Bag is four-years-old and not only improvement the water resistance but made the bag look fresh and clean too. Expensive but worth it. The small bar will cover a lot of material.
