car large cup holder

This is the second cup holder I’ve ordered, and it fills my specific purpose. I ordered a different kind of cup holder, which did not hold a large mug, had no bottom, and no slot for mug handle. Did some more searching on Amazon and found this cup holder. I hook it over a basket that I keep next to me on my couch. This cup holder has a slot that accommodates the mug handle, a solid bottom, and is large enough for an oversized mug. Since the handle/hook is metal, I was able to bend it over the top of the basket. This is an excellent cup holder.

It works, for what it's meant to be for. Somewhat flimsy, but has held up and hasn't broke so that's good. It does hold a very large drink, so my vente Starbucks fits nicely.

Works great when door stays shut. Cup holder pops out when door is shut hard and throws your drink.

I really love this, It seems perfect for my needs but I can't be 100% sure unless it will hang on the car door, which it won't. See photo below. I have ordered this car cup twice and gotten the exact same thing twice. I was so hoping the first one was defective. Now I am not sure. I will be returning them both this coming week. So disappointed. The cup part itself is very sturdy and has a slot in the front so that handle in a large cup can slide right it. How perfect! But the compare my pic with the one on Amazon. THe "hook" part is only 1/4 inch long on the ones I received and I can't find a good substitution.

This is a great idea, and great concept. I purchased it for an older vehicle that has small sized cup holders only. But the downside for the price you pay, it should come already assembled. The (excellent quality) heavy duty metal blade sleeve that slides down the window gap has great felt strip add-ons to allow the window to slide by it easier. The cup sizing is great for oversized cups & water bottles, so 5 stars for all that. The 2-star rating is merely for assembly required to install. It should be easy, but it is a struggle pulling bending & aligning. I cannot see a weakly person assembling it without great strife, it took bear strength to pull it into place once alignment was finally made. I don't mind paying a little higher in price for a quality made product, but assembly for anything priced upwardly $, should not be a fighting struggle! But once it is installed,,,,,,,, It is 5 stars! ........Sorry for the low review!

I rarely write reviews of purchases I make, but after many years and products Ive tried this is the only one that solved my problem, and it does it very well. I've been commuting by train, an hour each way, for many years, and the train seats do not have cup holders, ledges or anywhere to place a beverage, like the hot coffee I take in my thermos every day. This holder's design, with it's bendable flat metal 'hook' is the only one that can you can bend ti fit over a wide fixed object, like the metal piece between seats in front of me, as seen in the photo. When I insert the 'hook' into the holder and hang it, it stays there reliably and allows me to get work done on my laptop without having to place my thermos on the floor of the train or on the seat next to me, where over the years I've had tip overs and spills- no fun when it happens on the seat you're sitting in,. Not only that, it's at the perfect reaching height, so on a crowed train where adjacent seats are all filled, you still have easy access to reach for your beverage without needing to hold it. Finally, because of the holder's shape, when I put it in my messenger bag it has the added bonus of keeping my thermos upright and separate from the rest of its contents (which includes my laptop), and because the hook is meant to be easily detached, it does not project awkwardly from the holder and cause it to fit poorly in the bag and take up unnecessary space.

I couldn't figure out how to use this on the window, but the metal frame bends easy so added in to my backseat organizer desk. Have been driving about 12 hours and no spills.
