I have been a LEGO lover for a long LONG time and I am as surprised as you are with jumping ship from the mainstream brick company. The years of increased pricing and decrease in set piece sizes had me exhausted of paying +$200 for sets and truly drove me to explore other more affordable options with the same quality.I stumbled upon FunWhole's medieval line and was instantly attracted to the aesthetically rustic look despite their giggle-worthy company name. The set has a noteworthy price per brick (about half to LEGO) and relatively large in scale which made it that much more enticing.The company's strategy to incorporate lighting to its sets is a great idea especially for themes such as a medieval setting which relied heavily on candlelight. The medieval market set provides a beautiful ambiance and certainly becomes the centerpiece when lit. Despite the eye-catching lighting effect, the build certainly struggles with cable management and tries to incorporate "cable-friendly" bricks that fall short of providing adequate cable management. I hope this is an area that they will improve given its their key selling point (perhaps electrical-brick contacts instead of wires all over the place and hidden between connections). Despite this being my main con, you barely notice the cables once the set is done.Nevertheless, the Medieval set is beautifully designed and exceeded my expectations. I look forward to purchasing more!

Overall, A wonderful kit. It took me about a week to do on and off working a phase or two a day. The features and detail are fantastic. The pieces fit together firmly and are full-size pieces that work great with more expensive name brand kits and had zero issues with the included lighting kit!I had NO missing pieces and the final product was something incredibly cool and pretty to look at!I was skeptical at first seeing as I've never built something from FunWhole. From the moment I opened the box, the instructions were perfectly clear. The box itself is nice too! Great care was taken in the building phases and design. In fact, I ended up buying two other kits based off the quality of this one!I don't have anything negative to say as the build was a fun process and watching the kit come alive was awesome! As my title states, If you're on the fence about this one, GET IT!

It took me two months to finish the Funwhole Medieval Market because when I started on the tall building the long wire that connects it to the small building broke. I followed the instructions, which called for connecting the two buildings to ensure the lights in the second one were working. Then the instructions said to disconnect the long wire. I used the included tweezers to try to remove the plug on the end of the wire from the socket, but it immediately slipped off the plug and cut the wire, leaving the plug firmly installed in the socket. After much effort, I got it out, but the wire was useless without the plug. Funwhole sent me a whole new lighting kit in about two weeks, but I discovered the plugs and sockets in the kit were bigger than the original ones. I contacted Funwhole again, and several weeks later I received a replacement wire with the correct small plugs. Kudos to their customer service department for coming through so I didn't have to disassemble the model to swap out wires with small plugs for wires with big plugs! I love the overall look of this market, but I don't understand why the buildings aren't better connected. Only the wire connects them, but they really belong together because the tall building has a door on the second floor, and without the bridge a figure would step out and fall to the ground. The long wire is very visible, and I worry I'll break it if I move the model. The water looks cool, but I still haven't figured out why it lights up. It must be enchanted. LOL.

This was a great build. The instructions were a little hard to see, but good. It wasn’t hard to build and has so many lights and opening to view the inside. When my power adapter cable broke during the build, they overnighted me a whole new kit! Incredible! This is my 4th purchase from this company and I recommend them to everybody!

I have purchased numerous non-LEGO building blocks. I have had very little success with regard to quality. Things changed with this product. These are great bricks. The directions are easy to follow. All the pieces were there and they're full size. I sometimes get frustrated with Amazon reviews because it seems like I didn't receive the same product the people who reviewed received. Trust me on this one. This is well worth it. I hope you enjoyed as much as I did.

I love the detail. These sets are way better than Lego for sure.

First picture is next to Lego Ideas Blacksmith for scale. Baseplates (and cat) shown not included.Great build with excellent instructions. I did not use the lighting system, as I did not want to deal with the wires. It was easy for me to sub out pieces as I have a nice selection of my own pieces for builds.Highly recommend for anyone building a Medieval scene.

The light kit was very easy to install during the build. Very attractive outcome.
