Okay, so I have always had sardines in oil before, never in water. I recently went on the carnivore diet, so those were no longer allowed. I did some research and found these, and for a much better price than what I was buying at Costco. When I opened them, I was a little surprised. They're tiny, maybe 1/5th the size I'm used to, but there's also quite a few more in the container. The image I've provided shows how they look, but it's a bit less than what comes in the tin as I ate a couple already. For taste..... Unexpectedly delicious! They are extremely flavorful, surprisingly fresh, and very, very delicate. I was not expecting them to be this good or have this much flavor. So in that regard, I'm very happy. One thing I had to get use to is that they're a bit messier than the larger ones I've had. They fall apart quite easily, but that's expected with how delicate they are. Occasionally though, their little spines would dangle from them and that's something I had to mentally get past. Once I did though, I actually liked it. Nothing wrong with a little cartilage and nerve tissue. It's good for ya! So yes, there are bones in this. They're mostly undetectable, but on my first bite, I did get poked in the tongue with a rib. But it is what it is, a sacrifice for good health, am I right? Overall, I am so happy with these, I will definitely be buying them again. In fact, because I'm on the carnivore diet, I will likely have a tin of these every single day. Great source of omega-3's, plus a whole lot of other nutrients. I would absolutely recommend trying this product, and if you have an aversion to skin, bones, or nerves, try to move past it. They're worth it. Again, I cannot overstate how delicate and flavorful they are. Product of Poland, and I must say, Poland lives up to its reputation for good fish. Well done!

Great Deal, Perfect. Good quality Healthy snack for size that looked very good, low salt, no fishy smell

This is a great product, but they used no packing material to cushion the cases inside the larger box. As such, all three cases were broken open and every can was scattered throughout the box. Very lucky that none of the actual food cans were broken open.

Bottom line... Are they sardines? Yes. Are they high quality - hell no. Do they eat? Yep. Are the ultra loud fishy smelling? Yes. Are they ULTRA MUSHY? YES!!! Do they have character? Not much. What are they good for? Treat them like tuna salad - the string fishy taste though off-putting at first... Mayo tampa it down... Then everything else you put in it makes it actually special and tasty. It's a one trick pony.

I regularly order the smoked in oil case of 18. I wanted to get the smoked in water. Got my 2 cases of 18ea to find they are not smoked! Be careful when ordering and verify every change you make is what you want by going to the description at the top of the listing. I thought I could select “in water” AND “smoked” but I can’t. It’s either in water or smoked in oil. You can’t get smoked in water. Also found out that it’s healthier to get them in oil than in water. 36 lunches to go before I reorder SMOKED IN OIL! Sheesh!
