Star brite rust stain remover
Works way better than expected, I had some nasty rust stains on the interior of my fiberglass boat from previous owner using steel staples on a bow seat. Needless to say the staples rusted quickly and made a very nasty stain running down the white fiberglass. A few sprays of this stuff and the stain just disappeared. Fumes were not bad at all, though I was outside when using it, so any smell was probably carried away. Star bite products never disappoint. Can’t recommend this enough for cleaning rust stains from boat hulls. All in all definitely worth the money. Unfortunately I did not take pictures before using product, but the stain was bad enough that it had a dark black streak in the center and brown streaks all down the side. After applying it was as white as the day it was made.

This one Works!
I read all the reviews on rust remover sprays before ordering this product. I really didn’t have much hope of it working. We have white plastic stair guards going down to lawn from our back screened in porch. It was constantly being sprayed by our watering system every morning. They were really yellow brown from our hard well water. I sprayed one side of the railings and nothing! Dang, I thought ripped off again by some product I bought on line. I set the bottle down and walked back up the steps to get my camera to snap a picture of the railing. Grabbed my phone and turned around to return to the brown railing. What?? To my surprise those railings that were brown minutes ago, were now white! I could hardly believe it. I could see a spot that I misses that was brown. Sprayed it, and magically saw it turn white. Great product. Great price too. Easy to use just spray-and-go. I was going to purchase another well-known brand, but I think it was unavailable in a small size. Glad it was as this was cheaper. I wish I would have thought to take a picture of Before. Will definitely get this product again.

Good product.
Best I have found. Use it on my boat that is in salt water. Spray it on. It dissolves rust stains while you watch.

Comparison of Meguiar's vs. Star Brite
I bought and tried out two similar products for this review. Meguiar's Ultimate Iron Remover: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DLCKTQ18 STAR BRITE Rust Stain Remover Spray https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EXIVX56 The Meguiar's product recommends 30 seconds of soak time, while the Star Brite product recommends 1-2 minutes. For all of these tests, I let both products sit for *over* 2 minutes. Test 1: rust rings on bathroom counter, from a can of shaving cream. Surface is some kind of cheap plastic, not sure what. I unfortunately did not think to grab a "before" picture for this test, but the two stains started out pretty similar to each other. Both products worked to remove the visible ring shaped stains, but the Star Brite product left some spots and speckles behind, whereas the Meguiar's product seemed to leave a lot fewer marks behind. Neither product seemed to discolor the countertop. Test 2: severely rusted shower curtain rod. This test was somewhat inconclusive, although both products worked to shrink the rust blotches to some degree. For this type of severe case a harsher product might be needed. Test 3: two severely rusted shower curtain rings. For each ring, the side shown face-up in these photographs was left face-down in a puddle of the cleaning product and left to soak for at about ten minutes (the longest soak time of any of these tests.) Each ring was agitated at the same time, at about 2 1/2 minutes, and again at about 6 1/2 minutes. I actually think Star Brite came out on top for this one, although as with the curtain rod, neither product did more than remove surface stains. Test 4: this small painted/enameled tray. I did not think to grab a "before" picture for this test, but there was a scratch in the paint and some noticeable staining around the scratch. I was only able to test one product, since I only had the one tray, so I tested Meguair's for this one. It did a good job removing the rust stains, but the scratch itself was still rust-colored after the treatment. It also did a good job of not discoloring the paint, something I was worried about. Meguiar's marketing materials seem targeted at automotive paint specifically, but it also seemed to work well with whatever type of paint was on this tray. Overall, both of these products seem to work well at removing rust stains, and neither product really did much to the actual rust splotches themselves. It's worth noting that neither product is advertised to remove rust splotches. Overall, I would give it to Meguiar's for outperforming Star Brite on the countertop, and for doing a good job on the painted tray, but I would not recommend either product for severely rusted iron and steel.

Best product
This is the best product I found to get the rust off the shower walls and tub. I sprayed it on, and walked away for a few minutes, came back and the stains were gone It was unbelievable!! For years I have been scrubbing to no avail. I had no scrubbing to do. My tub looks brand new. I am so amazed. I will definitely be buying this great product again and again, I wish I could upload pictures, but technology and me don't go together. I don't know how to do that. This product does have a smell, it's not unpleasant but do ventilate your bathroom.

This saved my bathroom!
WOW! This worked WONDERFULY on our bathtub/shower! I was discouraged by the rust buildup that happened from our not-great water and malfunctioned water treatment system. I was considering having it all replaced when I heard about this product and read the reviews. I thought that for about $15 it was worth a shot - and it saved my tub! It did have an odor, but comparable (or even less!) that other tub cleaners I had tried. It took 3 applications (the first image is after one use, so you can guess how bad the tub was!), but there was no heavy scrubbing needed at all! I could not be happier with the results!

Okay product in a garbage bottle sprayer
This product works, sort of. I have a newer boat that has lesser stainless alloys on it, and was used in salt water. There are rust stains everywhere; some tiny little flecks of rust staining, some deep dark stains. This product definitely makes rust stains lighter, but it's not a miracle product. The rust stains are often dissolved and spread out over a wider area on gelcoat. Those lighter stains can often be removed by wet sanding. However, that's a lot of work. I have tried every permutation of letting the product sit, scrubbing, etc. and it always seems to work about the same, which is about 1/2 as well as I would like it to work. This would be a two star review, but the reason for one-star is the sprayer the bottle ships with. It's a type that is not re-usable or removable once you screw it onto the bottle. The sprayer worked fine for about 20 sprays, and then began getting weak. It's now (30 sprays?) so weak the product just dribbles out the nozzle, even though the bottle is full, no matter how the bottle is held. I'm going to have to buy another spray bottle, and drill a hole in this bottle to transfer the liquid and use the rest of this. Incredibly frustrating for a product that doesn't work very well in the first place!
