I got these for the beach. I've tested them on beaches with hard sand and soft sand. These are very handy for beaches with soft sand as they have kept hold my tent down. You do need a small rubber hammer/mallet. I recommend getting one. I'm not sure how long these stakes will hold up. Hopefully they do.

These are not green as advertised. Clear colored which will be difficult to spot if dropped. They seem sturdy enough, though.
