Great product. Well-designed, safe, easy to use and pretty good value.
Great product. Very easy to operate. I think some of the negative reviewers here may have been applying too much pressure, as I didn't have any issues with cuts or scratches. There is no need to apply any pressure at all - just run it lightly over the skin and let the blades do the work. It does say in the instructions that it is designed to work with minimal pressure. I used it dry and showered afterwards.I was a bit concerned that it would be too short - I'm quite tall at 6'7" - but I found it long enough for me. It would probably be a bit cumbersome if it was much longer. I'm not sure how long the blades will last but from what I've seen of other user reviews they last quite a while, so hopefully that will turn out to be accurate.I'm very impressed with the Bakblade 2.0 plus and would certainly recommend it if you're looking for a DIY back hair removal solution. It comes with a spare set of blades, a useful suction cup storage hanger and a cleaning brush, and also folds in half so it will be easy to pack for travelling. It also has the unexpected bonus of being a very effective back scratcher!** TWO MONTH UPDATE **I felt I should update my review now I've lived with the BakBlade 2.0 plus for a while. I am deducting 2 stars from my original rating to take account of the fact that the blades do not last very long. They are good for one or two shaves but after that they no longer provide a close shave and need replacing. I have used the shaver wet and dry.I will say that removing the blades after each use and cleaning them with the brush provided does seem help, and also I think the life of the blades may depend on the thickness of your back hair. The hair on my lower back is fairly light, so the blades seem to be able to deal with it for multiple shaves, but the hairs on my upper back are very thick and the blades can't cope with it after one shave. Also, I have still not had any issues with cuts and scratches, so I definitely think it's a technique issue if you're experiencing that.I have just ordered 12 replacement blades at a cost of £40 and will see how long they last. It may just be an issue with the blades that came with the shaver.

Fantastic product BUT...
I am surprised by how effective this bakblade is. It is almost perfect but lacks a few essential things which I will address bellow. First of all I am very hairy and have hair on my entire back so being able to shave myself smooth is in it self surprising. The handle is a tad bit short. I can't reach my spine effectively without bending in ways I did not know were possible. It should have been 6-10 cm longer. Additionally, the handle only locks in at its furthest position sometimes I need to angle the handle differently but since it doesn't lock in the handle opens easily up when only opened half way and I start shaving. They should revise the lock in mechanism to lock the handle in multiple angles. Moreover, I feel like the head should be able to swivel some degrees back and forth to follow the contours of my back. I sometimes end up only using one of the three blades since the angle at which is rest on my back is not perfect. This defeats the aspect of having three blades on there at the first place. Finally, my biggest gripe. It seems as if the replacement blades are not the same as the original blades and don't last as long. With the price they ask for the replacement blades and their shady quality it may just be easier to pay for back waxing.... 23Gbp and 6-7 gbp for delivery of what essentially is two sets of blades that last UP TO 2 shaves each and a high risk of injuring yourself? A maximum of 4 back shaves for a price of 29-30 GBP? Expensive if you ask me.

Back shave
I may find it challenging to reach every part of my back, but I know it’s incredibly useful and delivers a fantastic shave.

Great product, very effective at what it does, but handle is weak
UPDATE: the handle broke yesterday as I pressed down on my back. I had seen this coming for a while. Just ordered the new Elite edition, hopefully that will be better.ORIGINAL:I don't often write reviews, but this product is so good I really have to.After having skin rashes from a waxing session last year I decided I needed to find another way of clearing my back hair. Hair removal creams and the like were potential solutions but I read enough accounts of skin burning to put me off them - plus I didn't really want to use chemicals. So finally I settled on giving Bakblade a go. I was apprehensive about whether the blade would cut into my skin but in reality I had nothing to worry about. Within 10 minutes of the item being delivered I had already dry-shaved the hair off half of my back! The blades are sharp but if you've got normal skin (i.e. not over-sensitive) you should be fine. You don't need to press really hard, let the blades do the work. Obviously they're not as sharp as a razor you'd use for your face, so you may have to swipe more than once on a given area. I found that quickly cleaning the blades after EVERY swipe (just removing the large hairs) really helps in terms of technique. The blades can be detached from the head, which allows for using in areas where the handle would make things difficult. But to be honest, the 3-blade combo works much better than a single blade in terms of removing hair. One final tip - the blades are scraping your skin as you go, so your skin will be feeling a little rough afterwards. I used some aloe vera + tea tree oil on my skin to soothe it down.

Expensive, but great design and works really well
Fantastic product. I used to have do bribe my kids to shave my back, however due to the great ergonomic design of this I can have a smooth back in maybe 10 minutes. It trims well (3 cuts in) and have had less redness / nicks than the electric shaver.Yes it is expensive, and I umm’d and err’d for some time before spending out. Plus the refills are £20 for 6 cartridges - or 15-21 trims. However on the balance it is worth the money if you want to have a smooth hair free back.
