HM Digital AP-2 AquaPro Water Quality Electrical Conductivity Tester, 0-9999 µS Range, 1 µS Resolution, +/- 2% Readout Accuracy , Black

This is the second HM Digital AP-2 EC meter I've deployed. The unit is well built and rugged. My first meter works flawlessly and has held its calibration. I am pleased with these units and their performance.

Great little ppm/ec meter. High quality construction and easy to read screen. No adjustment screws to mess with. Auto temperature compensating, gives you a temp read out as well so doubles as a thermometer. I have been using it to measure nutrient levels for a hydroponics system and its been working great, much better than guessing lol.

An earlier comment suggested this was in fact a PPM meter and I can see why. Most nutrient manufacturers make EC suggestions based on millisiemen measurements, ie. 0.8 - 1.2 for seedlings, etc. This unit actually delivers the EC reading in microsiemens, ie. 800 - 1,200 for seedlings, which looks very similar to a PPM reading but it's not. If you use this under the impression it's giving you PPM numbers you are gonna be way off. The good part, micro's convert to milli's very simply. A reading on this unit of say 1,500, for example would be a standard EC reading of 1.5. A 1,250 on this unit is standard EC of 1.25 (the reading divided by 1,000).It works great, gives the temp in C or F and came very quickly. I deducted the one star because there was no written explanation of the microsiemen vs millisiemen included with the item - which cost me an hour of research to discover. Also, the readout is smaller than I had hoped.

I was trained as a chemist and involved in the EPA environemtal water analysis metheod validation process. For a very long time, I was searching for a easy to use but accurate device which can give me some scientific information about the tap water quality. In the past, almost all water analysis instruments are using analog devices which need constant calibration. Finally, this HM Digital, Inc manufactured a reliable portable digital conductance meter which weighs only 1.7 oz. It uses one CR-2032 lithium battery. It is using digital circuitry with fixed distance probe. It is also factory calibrated. I found it is very easy to use and the bettery will last for 2 years. It is a very reliable device to check your water purifying system. My house uses a reverse osmosis sytem under the kitchen sink. In the past, it was a quess work at best when to change those filters. Now, when I installed my new Watts filter, the specific conductance is below 20 uS/cm. Kirkland 1 L bottled water has a reading of 40 uS/cm whereas our municipal tap water has a reading exceeds 900 uS/cm which is rated as very poor quality. I love this economic yet accurate device. It is the best buy for your money!

A few days after arival I saw that I had to click twice to turn it on. After another week it stopped turning on at all. I replaced the battery and it presented some weird lines in the display and seemed to work again, but after another week it stopped again. Seems to be eating my batteries and does not behave well. Not usable any more. I think I got a malfunctioning unit.

I have been using it for several years now, and I can say it works like a charm. Pinpoint accuracy. My favorite feature is the hold button. gives me time to write it down and compare.

Nice subcompact model, plus the magnet is a significant feature at the oddest times. Results are shown as micro seimens, not EC, not PPM. You will have to convert yourself or use a different meter if you need it that way. Temperature is accurate, but not especially sensitive in that it takes a fairly long time for it to plateau. Be careful with the submission depth so as to avoid internal moisture damage.

Our dental office uses a water distiller, I needed to check and make sure the water was pure enough for use in our sterilization machines.I tested city water first and found that the result was within the parameters of the published test results (Portland water district). It then showed that my distiller was working perfectly.

Après deux modèles à 10 € très moyens voire tout pourris au bout de deux ans, je teste celui-ci. A première vue très correct : 1 420 µS/cm mesurés sur solution à 1 413, impeccable. La notice précise qu'il est calibré d'usine.Petit bémol, affichage peu lisible.Reste à voir la stabilité dans le temps.

Spedizione velocissima, pacchetto integro. Già usato e fa benissimo il suo lavoro. Facilissimo da usare, basta immergerlo in un po' di acqua e in pochi secondi si stabilizza il valore nel display. Provato con diverse acque, di cui già conoscevo il valore in ms, ha dato risultati soddisfacenti. Rapporto qualità-prezzo ottimo. Sono pienamente soddisfatta. Spero duri a lungo.
