Does it leak? every other sprinkler i tried makes a muddy mess at its base cause it leaks. i’m watering an arena and i can’t have wet mucky areas

I have not had any problem with puddles at the base of the sprinkler. Take into account that I always run the sprinkler on grass, so I wouldn't see a mud pile. I have not tried watering dirt with the sprinkler, but it doesn't seem to leak around the sprinkler base that I have noticed.

What is the smallest width can you adjust this?

If you are talking about the width it can spray, it can do the size of the head to a much larger area. You can adjust almost everything on it so you are able to water exactly what you want. Unfortunately, mine stoped pivoting only a few months after I bought it. Too bad as I did like it. Hope this helps!
