Review: These were real Gigante beans. The latest I ordered are really lupine beans Review: These gigante beans are HUGE and really delicious. I make a dish called "Fasoulia," (from a cookbook on desertcart called "Panache - Montreal's Flair for Kosher Cooking"). "Fasoulia" is a Greek dish of gigante beans (or lima beans) in a savory tomato sauce. When I've made this dish in the past, I used lima beans from the grocery store as I have not seen gigante beans in the legumes aisle. There is a "big" difference when using the gigante beans! These beans are SO good.

I have been looking for the Gigande beans forever and never thought to look on Amazon! The beans are beautiful. Followed the directions for cooking and poured a vinaigrette over them while they were warm and let them cool. Delicious.

Maybe I need to learn a better way to prepare these great looking beans. I soaked them for 24 hours; then simmered them several hours. I've had them 3 times, sometimes hot with ghee & spices; and also as a salad I found online. But they are a bit drier than the creamy flavor I was expecting.
