Great trap to take on trips
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Great crab trap to take on vacation. Compact size makes it easy to fold up so it doesn't take up allot of space. Easy to bait and remove what's caught.

Missing ties
I bought this to catch small fish and crabs. When I first tried to use it, it would not stay in shape. When I got home, I figured out the center tabs/ties were missing. These hold the shape when opened. I replaced them with regular wire ties. It now functions perfectly. Easy to open and close.

We will see
I seems like it will work, but how long is unknown due to a lower quality of material.

It works
Works well, catches crabs, have to put weight in the cage otherwise it floats up in 5 minutes.

This was trash!
First, they should make it CLEAR it's NOT for beginners, ESP if they are going to package it the way they do, with no instructions on how to correctly unpackage and assemble. I was SO EXCITED about getting away to the coast a few days and catching my own crab, but that was smacked down as soon as I got there n began unpacking it. there are DOZENS of "zip tie looking" connectors on this thing AND actual zip ties (same color) that are part of the packaging n therefor, being my very first experience, I guess I accidentally cut one I shouldn't have as it was clearly messed up right off, but I tried it out a bit any way and by the second toss the thing FULLY DISASSEMBLED on me. I just finally had to throw it away :(

Comes with Bait Holder; Easy to use AND empty; Folds pretty flat
I have used several types of traps, and this is my first one that has a zipper. I LOVE the zipper. It makes emptying the trap MUCH easier than some of the other traps. It doesn't fold down quite as flat BUT it is a smaller footprint than my significantly smaller, round crab traps that you clip shut and have to untie the top to open.It does have a bait holder attached in the middle, BUT it doesn't close. If you're concerned about making sure the bait stays in the holder in the middle, you will need to come up with a way to close it. I'm currently using a big safety pin, but I might come up with something else later. This does come with a little bit of rope and a floating ring, so you have the bare minimum to get started provided you aren't on a high pier. It's just a small plastic floating ring, not a more traditional float that's large and easy to see/grab.Quality is pretty good. Time will tell with how the zipper holds up. I'm hoping to catch a lot this summer!
