Is it made entirely of metal?

No. Plastic shell. Strong magnet but comes apart if bashed at the wrong angle. Dropped mine recently and found the keys stuck to the metal.k8ck plate on the door. Think a small clip may be better.

Will the magnet damage my phone if they’re next to each other in my pocket?

No but a screen protector would stop straches just in case
