Carte Noire Espresso No 9 Intense 10 Coffee Capsules 53 g (Pack of 8)

I got to try this on the Lightening deals - having always got the originals for my machine (Magimix).These are plastic (not aluminium) but are in an aluminium pouch so much bigger overall package - but I would not recommend you keep them unwrapped as they seem to have 4 tiny holes that would oxidise the coffee inside (though the capsule smells nice) thus you cannot use a pod stacker ;(The plastic is also surprisingly tough so it requires a stronger press to engage and I was a bit worried that the tubes (that push the hot water into the capsule) might get damaged. This is why not all machines are compatible, some might not be strong enough to puncture the capsule.Coffee is fine but even No 9 seems too weak for a latte. But much better than No 3 I have also tried. In the end I'm not sorry I tried but I would not buy again...

As Nespresso products are so pricey I tried these. OK for espresso - not really robust enough to make a good cappucino or latte though.The flow of coffee through my Nespresso Pixie was not good though (initially) but soon discovered the secret is tapping the pod to loosen the coffee before inserting in machine.A decent enough replacement for original Nespresso product - though not quite as flavoursome - but perfectly fine if like me you drink lots of coffee.

....but alas ...I'm using the Dualit 4 in 1 (same would be true of the 3 in 1) - The capsules work straight out of the individual foil packs (no modifications needed). There is indeed a smell of coffee when you open the small bag, but unfortunately any positive review ends there. Either the seal is not strong, allowing water to mix with the coffee during brewing, or the coffee/capsule just isn't very good. The taste is very watered down. As compared with the fresh ground coffee, well, there is no comparison.So if you are looking to use the capsules as a substitute for ground beans - don't bother.If you like weaker coffee (Americano) then these come close.I've also purchased other brands and will leave this exact review there also. Once I find something decent - I'll post it.Sorry.

Lovely, do like Carte Noire. Pity you can't buy dosettes No 8 over here.

They're good, not quite as enjoyable as Nespresso but the low Black Friday price more than compensated for the slight drop in quality

Get these on subscription... they're ok, not as good as No10s... but still good.

Too fruity for my liking. If you like a roasted flavour, then this coffee is not your cup of tea.

Good tasting coffee with no waste but rather expensive.
