i have waited some time before writing a review of this as i wanted to be thorough. i suffer with spasmed muscles on occasion due to a car accident, so i bought this in hopes of a little support for the better days. just wow is all i can say. this thing has kept me upright when no amount of painkillers could. i am deeply impressed at the support it gives. get it wrapped snuggly around you and even before you pull the elastics tight its working. having had it for a while now i can safely say it does what it is advertised to. and its wearable all day its that comfortable. although after a couple of months wearing it for a day at a time at least once a week watch out for the bones as they start to protrude from the channels. i cannot give this thing enough stars! a real lifesaver!

I bought this item for my father who has suffered with back pain for as long as I can remember, and so far he is very happy with it! First off I would like to address the quality of the item. It has not disappointed me at all in this area as it is confortable, looks fine and according to my dad is a breeze to wear. I thoroughly looked over it when it arrived and its very well put together, I highly doubt it will break anytime soon and my dad expects it to last a while as he does with anything! If I could recommend this to anyone with chronic back pain I would say go for it! It will certainly give you if not complete but partial relief. Its inexpensive which makes it easily replaceable if anything were to happen to it. 4/5 stars for the great quality but doesnt offer the absolute best relief for my dad so couldnt give it a full 5 stars. - DM

The item is very very well manufactured for the price, as noted by other reviewers. It is packed in a ziplock plastic bag and it was a bugger to get it out - you need to fold the belt a little first. You can adjust the belt tension (hence support) by moving the elasticated straps which have a velcro fastener at the ends. Put the belt on before you adjust otherwise you end up with a rucked up belt.The neoprene gives a pleasant warmth whilst the belt is being worn. I had one I bought (and paid more for) from some time ago but have since lost weight hence I bought this one. I measured my girth (belly button - 42") and bought a belt based on that dimension (40"-44" XL). However, it's a bit on the big side, IMHO. The belt actually measures 50" end to end. When wrapped around my frame there an overlap of about 6 inches - which is fine but the elastic tensioners cannot be adjusted to give me a very firm support - it's just snug with them fully adjusted. In order to get a tighter/more supportive fit I would recommend choosing a size smaller than the range you are in. At this price though I think I'll buy the next size down anyway and update the review to let you know how I got on. UPDATE: Just received the XL version. It measures 45" end to end. Fits my 42" waist nicely with a 3" overlap and plenty of adjustment left in the elasticated tensioners. I needed it quite tight as I've yanked a muscle in my side and a tight belt holds it all in place preventing the muscle from moving and, hopefully, giving it a chance to heal. This will also be handy if I manage to lose more weight.

Had a temporary back issue and this did seem to help a lot. Pretty big and sturdy but easy to conceal if you want to. I didn't because I found the secondary tensioners on velcro to be very useful. Tighten them up for walking and loosen off for more comfortable sitting. Seems to be very well made and it got me through my painful period. Now sitting in a drawer awaiting any future requirement. Whilst I hope that doesn't arise, I think this item is going to be in just as good condition then as it was when purchased.

I work at a desk all day and sometimes I do get a lot of pain in my lower back. I bought this to hopefully alleviate some of that pain. When I first used it and tightened it up I felt everything fall into place like it was forcing me to maintain a better posture. It seemed to work after a few days by back felt much better. My only complaints about this is when wearing under clothes it can be quite uncomfortable, especially in the warmer weather when you're sweating but for the price you can't go wrong.
