Kikkoman Tempura Batter Mix, 10 Ounce (Pack of 6)

Our favorite tempura batter mix. The mix comes wrapped in a foil bag to keep it fresh. We like the crispy texture of the fried coating, the seasoning used in the mix, and the simplicity in coating and frying the food. We have found that the coating is not too dry or too oily. Our tempura is "just right" when we remove it from the frying pan.

I made vegetable tempura which was super easy and delicious. The messy part is the frying oil that seems to splatter everywhere while cooking. Easy dipping sauce: 1/2 cup soy sauce + 1/2 cup water + 2 TBs sugar + 2 TBs white vinegar in a small saucepan, simmer together, add 2 TBS grated fresh ginger, 1 minced scallion cool while you fry up your tempura.Great buy from Warehouse

This is a fantastic classic Japanese temptra flour mix. There is no additive or chemicals and no Hot Spice is added like most of others. Crisp elegant finish and we can taste all the flavor of vegetables and the difference of texture and fragrance of vegetables.Probably 99% of "on the market" products contain some chemicals for " taste enhancement " or "hot spice" . Hot spice kills the details of taste and fragrance balance.I have used this product for many years and still I love it. A younger generation of 20-30 years old may Lovespice but traditional Japanese Temptra in Japan does not have spice nor chemicals. After all,this is "a Buddha festival meal" . That is why Temptra is all vegetable including oil source. Hope this would help.

A very nice product - just expected it to be a bit bigger. Still I like it very muchand it does look nice in the garden.

Its great for shrimp and I love the fact that using the tempura mix and adding only half the liquid called for in the instructions, makes fantastic English fish batter, something I’ve never been able to duplicate in the US

Great product & awesome deal for bulk boxes. I’ve used this type for years & always bought it in supermarkets but they always over priced it by a lot & you don’t get much. Buying in bulk here I got about 3 boxes free at supermarket pricing. Great tempura & makes any fried food amazing.

The batter is great but has no spice or flavor of it's own.

All I have to say is that I don’t need to go to the restaurant to eat shrimp tempura because I can make it at home thanks to this batter mix. The trick here is the water must be cold when mixing the batter. The price for this is so cheap !! Love it !
