Just what I was looking for
I was replacing a similar feeder. The squirrels did not do it in but the deer did and next winter they may destroy this one too but that is not a shock. It was never advertised to stand up to white tail dear. My squirrels are not too bright or perhaps too spoiled. They have never opened the top. They just ate through the plastic. I cut off the eaten bits and raised the window so they could fit under it. They are happy now and so are the cardinals and blue jays.

Feeder
Seems to be a well built feeder can use as a squirrel feeder but the plastic front was broke the first day it was set out. It was too thin and had no support to prevent the squirrels from pulling on it to get at the nuts in the feeder .

I love watching the squirrels feed at this feeder
I love watching the squirrels feed at this feeder.....the plexiglass in this feeder broke in half after the first use (half of that "glass" is still in the slit) so it still works, but a slightly thicker piece of plexiglass would have been much better.

plastic in front is very thin.
plastic in front was broken by the squirrels in less than a week trying to get in the back. Now I have to figure out how I am going to replace it.

Fun feeder
I would have given this product 5 stars however, within 24 hours the plexiglas was broken my the squirrel. I wish it was a bit thicker. Otherwise, made well.

Find a source for plexiglas!
Plexiglas very thin and was broken within a week. I haven't been able to replace them. I wish they had held up better.

Squirrels can get plexiglass front loose and off - too flexible
The squirrels have no trouble freeing the plexiglass front off. It is too pliable and flexible - needs to be "stiffer." The feeder could also use a screw or something else to secure a less flexible "glass" in place at the top. Needs a second place to screw to post. I know I could drill myself, but would be nice if it came ready for a more secure attachment. Something or someone in factory poured glue all down one side and I had a hard time removing the plexiglass as well as the logo paper glued to the plexiglass. Pay a little more for the Kaytee squirrel feeder. It's worth it. Would give no stars if I could.
