I've used Sealskinz 'waterpoof' socks before, and they leaked. I found Bridgedale's waterproof socks to be uncomfortable. Dexshell socks took forever to dry and the waterproof liner damaged very easily if exposed to any heat whatsoever. Despite these experiences I bought these Ottershell socks to walk Wainwright's Coast to Coast, and ended up wearing them for 9 consecutive days in some horrible weather, and wet, boggy conditions. They performed brilliantly, keeping water and mud out, but were cold, sweaty, and slightly abrasive inside the sock. Then I paired them with a thin, merino liner sock and they were a total game-changer! Warm, comfortable, and managed moisture well. Wearing 2 pairs of socks did mean my trail runners pinched a bit, so next time I do a long distance hike I will consider going up a half shoe size, and 'double-socking' on dry days, too. There was one more huge advantage to these socks over the Sealskinz/Bridgedale/Dexshell socks, the washing instructions say that you can dry them on a radiator. Regardless of this fact, they seem to clean and dry much easier than those other socks, so I was able to clean and dry them most days, with ease.

They have been waterproof so far. I have to wear sandals when out for walks. These keep my feet dry and warm on cold, wet days. I put them on over thin cotton socks only when I go out. They aren't exactly breathable, being like thick rubber bags for your feet, but they look smart enough. I wash them carefully in the shower with me and leave them to air dry, having absorbed some of the water away by rolling them in a towel.

They work fine! Bought short ones for training runs in wet grass and puddles. Nice to have dry feet and not wet muddy ones. feet are only a little damp from sweat so must be breathable as well

These socks are thick, comfortable and feel pleasant to wear especially with a liner. The waterproofing is good - I have not tested them extensively but they do feel durable and solid. They come well packaged.

Material de calidad. Cumple con su cometido al 100%, en mi caso lo utilizo para hacer enduro y cuando me quito las botas tengo los pies totalmente secos, además no sudan los pies.

Le calze sono impermeabili ma c'è bisogno di un accortezza. La parte del bordo elastico ( o polsino) non è impermeabile. Se si vestono con i pantaloni corti, per esempio in bici, l'acqua dal bordo elastico inizia a colare verso l'interno. A quel punto, essendo il calzino impermeabile, l'acqua non esce più e il piede si trova letteralmente a bagno causando una sensazione molto spiacevole. Inoltre una volta che si bagnano internamente faticano tantissimo ad asciugarsi. Indossando invece i pantaloni impermeabili lunghi non c'è questo problema e il piede rimane asciutto. Provato in entrambi le situazioni. Consiglio al costruttore di specificare questo dettaglio come ho trovato per altre marche. Aggiungo che dopo la mia segnalazione ho ricevuto un ottimo feedback dal venditore.

Very comfortable for waterproof socks, even how the material feel inside. However, I do double sock as I don't like the inside of waterproof socks in general + I like warm feet, so I put merino socks inside and that way they work perfectly for cold and wet conditions! Great as my hiking boots aren't really that waterproof anymore, but still good to use and these socks can also be used in my trailrunners.

Tres bon produit qui garde les pieds au sec. Je les utilise depuis plusieurs mois dans des sentiers très boueux. Rien à dénigrer !
