FUTURA Hawkins 3-Litre Hard Anodized Induction Compatible Pressure Cooker, Small, Black

I bought my first one of these Futura pressure cookers back in 2008, still going strong and sold for £30 recently. I purchased this model as I needed Induction hob compatibility. The anodised aluminium is safe, distributes heat and low stick. The pressure cooker works without the noisey steam releases, rather emitting a constant low sound. Daal cooks in 5 mins perfectly! And it’s beautiful too!

Just maintain the food level marked inside the pressure cooker and don’t overload. It’s making lamb meat or chickpea in 15-20 minutes.

I bought this pressure cooker to have the most energy efficient hob-top solution for cooking rice and lentils. The pan did not perform well at all in the induction efficiency test of bring 500ml of water to the boil. Anything less than 3mins is a fail. Many of my pans come in shortly after the 2 minute mark, the Hawkins Futura induction ready pressure cooker came in nearer to six minutes to boil. I have other aluminium pans that are induction ready, this pan is not induction ready.

It works great and looks nice. I love the finish on this cooker and it's been working great for a few years now.

Pressure cooker is heavy duty and finish was very good. Multiple language manual is easy to understand. Item cooks well. Escaping steam from regulator quieter than most pressure cookers I have used. Unit was purchased for use in camping and it is almost too nice looking for that. ;) I have not tried the induction ready feature yet. It does take some practice inserting the lid and latching the handle. Recommend practicing that before actually cooking with it. Definitely recommend the unit. Will likely purchase a larger one for use at home.
