McCulloch 40cm Petrol Chainsaw 40cc

This is my first petrol chain saw. First start takes 30 seconds, then after that start after stops during work is just one pull. Have gone through three chains so far and is going well. If it does not start it is usually the petrol or the oil has ran out, just check these. Be careful with the tensioner, once I I did not tighten the knob or did not push the lock properly, the whole chain loosened with vibrations (my fault) and fell apart. Have cut and chopped through many trees in the last few months and and still going strong. Make sure the petrol/oil mix is correct, when oil-rich does not run so well (unfortunately my other petrol machines have all different oil to petrol ratios, why do they do this?).

Used once and then had problems, but I think it was down to me and not the machine, aswhen you mix two stroke you have to get it spot on or else.

I have used 3 saws and this is by far the best. As an amateur tree chopper this has done the job well. After my last mcculloch saw dying I decided to replace with another. There are a few points that make this saw great. The larger engine is well worth the extra money it eat through the wood and does not stall. The extra 2" on the blade is a god send you always need a bit more than you might think and its so useful for getting around the bigger braches or getting into tricky places. The new chain tightener is also quick and easy to use just make sure you do it up properly or it could be a disaster.All in all a great powerful saw that over the last year has done everything I have wanted.
