Victorinox are the best at what they do! and in this case if you want a Swiss Army knife..you need to buy Victorinox! build quality with these knives is always superb! blade sharpness and edge retention is great. In the end a Victorinox knife should last you a life time with a littler care and attention! I carry a knife everywhere, everyday and I use it everyday! You can get spares for tweezers and pins and toothpicks etc and those spares will usually fit onto the other knives in the range! so for instance the mini screwdriver will fit into the corkscrew of this knife as well as most others in the range. if you buy a Victorinox swiss army knife you have purchased the market leader in such knives..and it really does show!

This product was everything you expect from a well known brand. Sturdy construction and made from good quality steel.. I chose this model over the 'Fisherman' due to the inclusion of crimps rather than scissors, as a saltwater fisherman these prove to be far more useful. Obviously this is a pocket knife so will not replace items in your tackle box but as a handy multi-purpose tool that can be keep close at hand it performs very well. In fact when constructing rigs I found it extremely useful and the crimps to be far stronger than they look. So in conclusion a very handy tool at a very reasonable price..

Bought to replace my old swiss army knife we have had for many years, finally some of the locking mechanism had gone. Good replacement, bit smaller than I thought but all the usual useful attachments. Hope it lasts as long as the old one.

Great knife! Fabulous quality. I ordered this knife with the idea of keeping it in my fly fishing vest. I need pliers for mashing the barb on fly hooks in certain spots that are catch and release/ barb less hooks only. They are also good for crimping split shot and getting the hook from the fish. My only qualm about this knife is that it doesn't have scissors. Scissors are very useful for trimming hackle or clipping line. I think this is great for a fly fisherman. I guess the pliers have a wire cutting notch at the back of the jaws which will cut fishing line. A lot of fly fisherman do drink wine, so the cork screw comes in handy, not just for wine... but for untangling line, or clearing head cement from the eye of a hook. You can also keep a straight pin in the pin hole of the scale for that, for popping a blister, or for any medical purpose. I would like to keep a small tube in the cork screw for tying nail knots, but I haven't had time to find one that fits. You can also use the corkscrew for storing implements like a small ferro rod Flint striker with tinder, or other small driver bits. You can order the fire striker Flint implement it's called a fire ant. I don't live in an area where I catch a lot of fish that would need use of the fish scaler, but the hook discourage is very useful if you know how to use it. If the fish swallows the hook or your fly, you can really get it back there. The fish scaler reaches down a narrow throat of a fish fallowing the notch with the line. It works better in that scenario than the wide pliers. The hook discorder is also better to use with delicate flies than the pliers, but the fish also chew up the flies it doesn't really matter. The blades are really sharp. I suppose the big blade you can use to gut and clean the fish, but the small blade I would keep razor sharp and closed most of the time in reserve for medical purposes or backup. All tools are finished fine quality, not like the cheap Chinese army knives that you find for under ten bucks. The Chinese army knife doesn't even come close to the quality of an actual swiss made.

Vor ca. 35 Jahren bekam ich mein erstes Wenger- bzw. Vitorinox-Taschenmesser geschenkt. So, wie im Laufe der Jahre die Umstände wechselten, änderten sich auch die Anforderungen an ein jeweiliges Taschenmesser, so dass mehrere mit unterschiedlichen Ausstattungen hinzu kamen. Alle, außer billigen u. minderwertigen Messern, haben die Jahre überdauert. Vor kurzer Zeit sind mir zwei Vitorinox abhanden gekommen, die ich aber ersetzen wollte. Obwohl es Gerüchte weise heißt, bei Amazon seien preiswerte Vitorinox nur billige Imitate, Fakes und Fälschungen, testete ich, bei Amazon zu bestellen. Und: Nach auspacken der erhaltenen Ware, konnte ich durch Vergleichen bereits nach ca. 15 Min. zweifelsfrei (99,99%) feststellen, dass es sich definitiv um ECHTE Vitorinox-Taschenmesser handelt. Fazit: Preisgünstige ORIGINAL-Qualität und super schnell geliefert.
