Ben Gates (Nicolas Cage), the treasure hunter who feverishly sought, in the first film, the whereabouts of a war chest hidden by Americas forefathers, is now charged with protecting family honour. When a rival (Ed Harris) offers alleged proof that Gates ancestor, Thomas Gates, was not a Civil War-era hero but a participant in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, Ben and his father (Jon Voight) and crew (Justin Bartha, Diane Kruger) hopscotch through Paris, London, Washington DC, and South Dakota to gather evidence refuting the claim. The film is most fun when the hunt, as in National Treasure, squeezes Ben into such impossible situations as examining twin desks in the queens chambers in Buckingham Palace and the White Houses Oval Office, or kidnapping an American president (Bruce Greenwood) for a few minutes of frank talk. Helen Mirren, the previous year's Oscar winner for Best Actress, wisely joins the cast of a likely hit film as Bens archaeologist mother, long-estranged from Voights character but as feisty as the rest of the family. Returning director Turteltaub takes excellent advantage of his colorful backdrops in European capitals and the always-eerie Mount Rushmore, and oversees some wildly imaginative sets for this dramedys feverish third act in an audacious and completely unexpected, legendary setting. I saw this one in the cinema, my first visit there in years, and I did not regret it. I loved the original, but I think the sequal was if anything better. It is a rip-roaring adventure with a fabulous cast. Nicolas Cage is a greatly underrated actor but personally he can do no wrong for me. It is non-stop action from start to finish and there is plenty humour thrown in. It is a real treat for the whole family. DON'T MISS IT!

Good Fun. I would have liked more tales of this type." Indiana Jones style treasure hunting" is a fun genre. The world is a big place so plenty of room and oppourtunity for more such tales.

Excellent Sequel
This is a very good movie and typical Hollywood, having had a success with the first, following the same format for the sequel. This has all the elements which made the first one great so no one should be disappointed - not even the English who are horribly and wonderfully caricatured by Cage in the scene set inside Buck House.

Not as good as the first instalment...
I absolutely loved the first National Treasure and was really looking forward to watching this. However, by the end of the film, whilst I felt I felt I'd enjoyed and got my money's worth, I couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed that it wasn't as great as the first one. Personally I felt that the plot was less clever than the last and the characters lacked the energy of the first. What I will say is it does offer some absolutely great scenes and you can't help but be amused at some of the poor acting in others. An OK film and I personally hope that whatever is on pg. 47 is better than this one. A good effort but not as good as the first.

Good quality second hand DVD
We really enjoyed this film although we had seen it before it is well worth seeing again and will be a great addition to our DVD library. It arrived quickly and in top condition I would buy from this seller again.

Ok it may not be as great as the first one but you have to go with the follow with National Treasure 2. But still a great buy and so worth it! Thanks Amazon :) This is a great price for a brilliant movie.

No logro entenderlo. En el anuncio pone que está en español y no es verdad. Cuando lo recibí la primera vez hice queja precisamente mencioándolo y me lo volvieron a mandar exactamente igual. No consigo entender que pretenden que haga yo con 2 dvd iguales sólo en inglés. Deberían cambiar la publicidad de la película si no disponen de la versión dicha. Estoy bastante disgustada.
