IDEAL STANDARD SPACE EV154AA STAINLESS STEEL SEAT HINGES SET (Post 2003 onwards)

I struggle to find these hinges, so brought these to replace the broken hinges, it does not fit perfectly (seller does state pre-2003) but have made it work.

I bought a new hinge set in the 'hope' that it would for my old toilet. My main concern was the dimensions between screws centres where it is fixed to the back edge of the seat. No problem here BUT the new brackets that screw onto the toilet lid don't fit and neither do the new screws. I had to use most of the old hinge parts and screws but that saved lots of £'s on a new toilet seat.

I purchase this for my space saver toilet hinges which is a original IDEAL STANDARD bathroom toilet and some parts of the hinges were different to my original so it did not fit properly although the item seems the same . Unfortunately I Had to return it

The lugs on the first toilet seat were not welded correctly and broke away. The new kit solved the problem and the new kit was easiley fitted.

The original seat hinge has given great service for nearly ten year but a weld gave way on the seat to fixing bracket so I ordered this one. I wish I had read the reviews first. The quality is far inferior to the old one. The holes for the screws don't line up and the PVC bushes are the wrong size. I had to use one piece out of this kit and the remains of the old hinge in order to fix the seat. I would have given less than one star if I could have. Despite this it, it arrived promptly as part of the Amazon Prime free trial.

The old fixings rusted- like the ones before had, this is a much cheaper way of fixing a special shaped, very expensive toilet seat that tends to rust on the hinge, on an otherwise good seat.Screws to short- hardly long enough to reach through hinge to the screw-hole, let alone 'bite'- they fell out next time it was used- we got longer screws, no problem- maybe the supplier should put longer screws in the package.

Much better quality than the original and was easy to fit also it was cheaper than I could find from other places.

Overall the seat and hinge are poorly designed.The hinge itself is a weak link and likely to break at the fixing to the seat due to poor welding as mentioned by others. Also trying to remover the old hinge parts that go through the toilet with the provided tool is really difficult as it tends to rust fixed - despite WD40 etc etc.Combined with this the price is just too high
