The unit arrived in good condition in under a week, and so far I am very pleased. The first thing I noticed through the vent holes is that it uses a toroidal transformer, which should produce a cleaner output waveform, although I have not scoped it. My application is as a high-runtime standby power source for a wood-fired boiler, to prevent it from overheating because the circulator pump stops when it loses power. It only uses about 250 watts in total, so I did not need quite such a large inverter, but this one is large enough that its cooling fans don't even come on, which is nice. It should also be able to charge several batteries for an extended run-time, which means that the boiler can continue to operate normally until it runs out of fuel instead of shutting down the air and only continuing to circulate the water to storage until the fire goes out. I hope it will last a long time.Edit (11-15-22): Following a recent power outage, the unit now trips the circuit breaker withing a few seconds of powering on. The inverter still inverts, but the output voltage is out of regulation @ 159VAC. I have been in contact with support, and they have been helpful, and very quick to respond. The symptoms point to a fault in a feedback circuit on the upper board, and I am expecting a quote for a replacement. Installation should be pretty straightforward.Edit (11-23-22): Replacement board installed, and inverter is working properly again. Very reasonable price, very positive support experience.
