Perfect gift for a Grandson who loves cryptograms.

The puzzle themes are OK, but print is larger than needed.... so that words often run together, making it difficult to see where one starts and stops!

First of all, the laminate was peeling off of the cover when I received it. I cut it off, so not a big deal. Just not want you expect from buying a new book.The content is the important part and I was disappointed find the font size for the hints and solutions are noticeably smaller than the puzzles. Looking for clues from the solution was a nightmare. And on that note, I wish there were more hints. One hint per puzzle is not enough. Especially for the puzzles where the hint is a letter that does not show up frequently.

Difficult to tell where words begin and end.

This was my first attempt at Cryptograms and I really enjoyed it. I typically go for crossword puzzles or sudoku, but I am happy to add a new type of puzzle book to my rotation. The various quotes were fun, and the large range of categories from which they came kept things interesting. I think that added an element of difficulty because you never knew where the words may come from. I will say that it took me a while to get the hang of it, but once I did I was able to solve most. I did need to depend on the hints occasionally, so I appreciated the inclusion of them. I love cryptograms, so I was excited when I found this book. It contains 500 puzzles that are all based on quotes, and you would think that makes them easier to solve, but it doesn't! The first ones I did were very challenging, and I had a great time working on them. This book includes 500 cryptogram puzzles, hints and solutions. Each page has 3 to 4 puzzles in a larger print. There is a section of hints with 1 letter (Y=T) for each puzzle included. The solutions are offered at the back of the book.As I've gotten older, I like the larger print puzzles that are easier on my eyes. There is some space existing between the lines to write possible solutions but I wish there was more room between letters so I can write larger also. Some of the puzzles are easy and some challenging. The puzzles are short quotes which can also make it harder to solve. The book is well-organized and offers excellent features such as an explanation of what cryptograms are and tips on how to solve them as well as hints and solutions for each puzzle. There is plenty of room to work on each puzzle and the large print is most appreciated.
