TCL A3/A30 A509DL/51020 32GB 3GB Tone Unlocked 1 Black A- (Renewed)

I wanted a cheap smartphone to replace a Samsung Galaxy A12 that had seen too much wear & tear. This TCL A30 seemed like a good option, since it has the same amount of storage space and RAM, and a fair-sized battery for the price range. I paired it with a case (ASIN: B0BR6ZBQGD) and have been very happy with it. Honestly, I like the compact size relative to my previous Galaxy A12 more, and while downgrades in terms of the smaller battery, slower charging, missing Samsung apps, and lower resolution camera are noticeable, I don't really mind them, since all the essential features for me are still present in this phone and all my apps and contacts were easy to transfer over. UPDATE (September 2023): I work a rough and dirty job, and an accumulation of dried mud in the charging port eventually rotted out the silicon component of the micro usb, meaning the phone could no longer be charged. I might attempt some hobbyist electronic repairs on it down the line, but for now I decided to shell out the money for a rugged military-grade phone with wireless charging capacity as a replacement. This TCL A30 was a very good budget phone, but unfortunately wasn't built to endure my lifestyle.

I bought this for an AT&T plan I need to keep for a few months. Connected to the network no problem. AT&T recognizes this TCL phone as an Alcatel; TCL was making Alcatel phones. So far it is working well. And... no bloatware!!! It has the older mini-USB plug and comes with a cable and an adapter. Also, this phone has a separate battery! It doesn't have one of those little SIM card caddies, you have to take the back off to install the SIM card and any memory chip. Great value for the money!

Great cheap phone unlocked and can use internationally. The camera is a little cheap compared to my Samsung but for the price it's good enough. I purchased 4 and give them away for gifts.

Phone showed up on time and it's what I ordered, however..... As far as the TCL company goes I have an issue. This is not the first of this kind of phone for me, I have had others. On every one of said phones (for some reason) not one has had the alarm clock function work properly or even at all! Just a heads up - nothing to do with the seller/sale, that was fine. That is why I'm giving the 5 ⭐'s. Only issue is within the product itself.

It has a battery that can be taken out. I did check before purchasing it. So that was my fault.

Unfortunately this phone DID NOT WORK, I bought it for my daughter since her old phone broke and was being replaced but in the mean time she needed another one to be able to commute to work and use a navigation device. But this phone just let you do the initial login. ☹️

I bought a TCL A 30 brand new, well I had it about a year dropped it cracked the screen, instead of getting a different phone I ordered the same phone from e Kings they're called who sell on Amazon. Phone got delivered, contacting my provider waited for a new chip to put in the phone so they could check it out it was unlocked refurbished I guess and so I ordered a TCL a30 but when I go to put my apps in my banking apps as I use everyday it tells me it won't accept them because it's a different version how can you advertise a TCL A:30 it's all different version of it change the software isn't that like against the law or false advertising so now I got to wait for them to either get a refund meanwhile I'm on a fixed income permanently partially disabled taking care of my dad who's 90 years old if I go out how's he going to get a hold of me something happens or he needs something what a nightmare this turned into. I would recommend not buying from e Kings who sell on Amazon or be very wary of them.
